Egg Cup Future
Further to viewtopic.php?f=59&t=116078 this is the last season I will be providing egg cups:-
Simple poll question, yes or no.
We would still have entry into the hall of fame for the winners, is this enough? It is for me as I just like the format of the competition and I'm happy to run it on that basis.
Alternatively we could donate an entry fee (£2-£5) into charity of the winner's choice (keeping within the spirit of thelip's original intention). If an entry fee is not acceptable then I would put up £50 for the winner of the PL charity donation. There would just be promotion and relegation in the other leagues.
Thoughts welcome.

Re: Would no Egg Cup prize stop you playing?
I don't currently play but would be happy to start up (with no trophy on offer) if pointed in the right direction. Always liked the idea of the game and would keep me out of trouble. The charity idea is nice, if easily managed..

A prize is always nice but I'd play this with no prize (not that I'd be in with a chance anyway)
These FISO games are good fun with no prizes

Would no Egg Cup prize stop you playing?
I'll play regardless with or without prizes and with or without entry fees, I love the format.
That being said I am fickle and I do love the novelty eggs cups I got moving up through the leagues

Re: Would no Egg Cup prize stop you playing?
No, not having a eggcup would'nt stop me playing.
The format itself is good but league 2 has been jokes this year with too many players not bothering doing timely updates of their transfers, which means I'm not going to bother playing next year and I'm going back to being a single entrant.
Good luck with the move though Hoppy. I'm sure the egg cups will live on without the cups. Who has eggs with soldiers these days anyways, its all poached and scrambled these days

Re: Would no Egg Cup prize stop you playing?
This is a great competition and I would always play whether there was a prize or not. I greatly appreciate the efforts that go into running these things and it's one of the things that makes FISO what it is.
I also feel that if I was ever lucky enough to win the thing I would be gutted that I had no egg trophy to display and would probably make my own.

Re: Would no Egg Cup prize stop you playing?
I treasure the cup I won for winning the Championship, oh so long ago....
If there was no cup to win, the value of those already out there would rocket. Look out for me and murf of Antiques Roadshow in a couple of years!!
Of course I'd still play by the way

Anyway, it's the fun of taking part that matters and the bragging rights in the unlikely event of winning

I've found all the egg cup stuff but I have no egg cups left so as I will have to go and buy more I will buy enough to do at least next season. So as you were for now.

Fantastic! The thought that there is something worthwhile for me not to win makes all the difference.sjr wrote:happyhoppy wrote:I've found all the egg cup stuff but I have no egg cups left so as I will have to go and buy more I will buy enough to do at least next season. So as you were for now.

Re: Would no Egg Cup prize stop you playing?
Decided to change the egg cup to a mug for 2016/17 so I can easily get these done by a third party and much closer to the end of the season.
The Egg Leagues will now be called the Mug league played by mugs.

Opal Fruits. European Cup. Marathon. Bombay Duck. Eggcup.happyhoppy wrote:Are you serious?murf wrote:Rubbish.

It doesn't matter what the prize is (the glory/kudos is the main thing) as long as it keeps it's name and identity. IMO.

Isn't it misleading to call it an egg cup league and there's no egg cup?

Re: Egg Cup Future
I've taken off the "cup" part, so it now just says Egg leagues but we will be playing for a bespoke mug.

It is better (non?)rebranding than the Champions League where neither word is accurate!!happyhoppy wrote:Isn't it misleading to call it an egg cup league and there's no egg cup?
