Headlines are that Robot has recently had a great run of form and has opened up a big lead (56 points!) at the top. Last year's runaway leaders Hotpot and Jag have both made a move in the last few weeks and are now right behind second-placed Paulgrinny.

And of course the real reason I've chosen to post this table now is that, after a disastrous series of weeks, I had a good day yesterday and (for now at least) have the highest score of the week so far

And here's the table going into Christmas. A story of two 37-point gaps - one at the top, one at the bottom.

Robot's blistering "top 1k" pace shows no sign of relenting and he remains 37 points clear at the top. Paulgrinny stays in second, followed closely by Hotpot, and this week's big riser Bill Ferny - his Suarez- and Lallana-inspired score of 72 points was comfortably the best of the week.

Very different story at the bottom, where backmarker Wilbert and "who needs Suarez?" Nathan247 get the lowest scores of the week and are now 37 points off the pack.

Happy New Year guys - here's the the end of the year table.

Robot still leads the way with a comfortable 37-point lead at the top, although the fact he is down to just 8 transfers may bring some hope to the chasing pack.

That pack is now led by Bill Ferny who has this week moved up to second, edging Paulgrinny into third place (in a tight week, Paulgrinny's 57 points was - just - the lowest score of the week). Bill's 73 points was a good score, matched by Hogweed and Topspur... but the highest score of the week came from Nathan247 with 80 points. He remains second bottom, but makes up some ground on the rest of us, and with 18 transfers still to go will be optimistic about escaping the relegation zone.
