Welcome to the new FISO Forum

Post by admin »

Thanks for bearing with us whilst we dealt with the problems posed by Fasthosts who house www.fiso.co.uk

I have used one of my other domain names to set up a new php forum which in the end was the only way to get things going again before this weekend. I intend to move the forum back from www.fantasyfootballuk.co.uk to a www.fiso.co.uk address early next year.

We've also taken the opportunity to move to a different database for the new php forum which will enable us to provide more than we could on the old php forum.

I'm happy now, just me being a newbie

How do we get the avatars to work I get:

Could not write avatar file to local storage. Please contact the board administrator with this message

I got a whole load of code when I tried to upload an avatar. didn't get time to copy it before the next page kicked in. Minor problem though - main thing is we're back in business!

Echo everything said - even though I've been very busy on other things there's been a little hole in my life because FISO wasn't there. Thanks for all your work on us addicts' behalf.

I've noticed that the default has everyone's Emails visible. So if that is something you don't want, go change it in Profiles.

This is not happening to new registrations, as I made one earlier

Thanks for all your hard work Roger ..... (and Chris  )

One other little issue is that profiles seem to have defaulted back to GMT. Mind you, us UK residents will need that in a couple of weeks time. :(

It's a great relief to be back with my friends - thanks esteemed leaders :D

Can't believe I got so excited about using a new image of The Bridge for my avatar and then it didn't work. I'm sure this will be corrected in good time. Now's the time for business to take a back seat again

Well done to all for the hard work.

I have a conspiracy theory that the forum was just shut down to prevent all the 'rate my transfer' postings on the Sun Dreamteam forum. If so, it worked

Thanks for all the hard work C + R...

Hopefully the move back to fiso.co.uk in the new year will be the last one we all have to make...

Thanks again

Another niggle I've spotted (other than avatars, GMT and visible e-mails) is that threads aren't always showing as 'read' when I refresh my latest topics page.

Anybody else spotted this?

Not exactly top priority but.....

Thanks Chris & Roger - hopefully these webhosts will prove better and FISO III will last more than 5 months!

I can even access this one from work though I don't expect that to remain the case for too long!

I do like this forum engine and hope we don't have to switch format to another one, the simplicity and "cleanliness" of it is very good indeed - as good as PipSuite's format.

Tried to send you an IM, but this may be of interest to others so:

Hi Chris

I don't seem to be able to use the 'search' field on the "May 2005 - last week" Forum. Is there any way I can do this or is it just a case of shuffling through the menus.
