New forum feature - Tables (TABLE, TD, TR)

Post by Stemania »

Those wily members among you may have noticed some additional buttons are visible when you compose posts - TABLE, TD (table data) & TR (table row).

Chris (admin) has kindly added the function for basic tables to be added into posts without having to link offline/to another website - all three of the above commands are required to make a single table. Here's an example I made to show how to use the new features:

Code: Select all

Table 1st Column 2nd Column

1st Row info11 info12

2nd Row info21 info22

3rd Row info31 info32

This code produces the following result:
Table 1st Column 2nd Column
1st Row info11 info12
2nd Row info21 info22
3rd Row info31 info32
As you can see, TABLE starts the table, TR starts a new row, and TD starts a new entry within a row.

(Troubleshoot - if when you create a table and a big blank space appears above it when you post it then the solution is to delete all line-breaks within the table code).

Have fun!

looks like a lot more effort than converting excel to space delimited and using "code"?

I wonder if a c&p from excel into Word then saving as HTML will generate the same code with maybe just a need to change square brackets to < and >
