EDIT _ knulpuk has explained it - never heard of that usage in a crossword before!
'odd' is often used that way in the Telegraph crossword which is the one I do.
Must admit its been a while since I regularly did the Tele crossword. Maybe my memory is ddy.

Only need 2 down now (seems like it should be easy too....)
Had to google 11/12 Down (never heard of him) once I had figured an answer, which I think gave me 41 Down...

Have you thought about just taking a photo of the Tele/Times crossword from the paper with your smartphone when out in Spain (assuming you have a printer). Or asking a relative to do same from their copy and email it to you?
That had honestly never occurred to me! I get on quite well with my local prensa as well... Thanks!

Just found this thread... completed it in just over an hour, last one I was stuck on was 45a, probably the least cryptic of them all

Nice one admin, I know how hard these things are to put together.

The winner of the random draw from the correct entries (undertaken by my 6 year old daughter) was:

Hogmeister

I have emailed you regarding your prize.

P.S. My daughter thinks you have a silly name (but maybe lucky she didn't draw out Knulpuk).

Checked over the answers today (thanks for the completed grid).

We got 40 correct of the 48 (I think) answers, so not bad.

I pretty much understand most of the answers which we didn't get, but these three I'm not sure about:

14A Cardinal error everyone makes initially to use that credit. = Redeem.
2D Litter I fold for ward. = Messi (I get that litter + I = messi, and he's a forward, but what's the fold bit for?) We thought this might be 1940s Spanish striker Adolfo 'Dolfi' Lopez Menendez!
8D Your past word has travelled over chasm in space whilst being careful with budget. = Thrifty - so it's a rift (chasm in space), careful with budget is self explanatroy, what's the past word all about?

Thanks for any explainations (try not to be too condescending eh?!), and great work putting this together. 6D is a great clue!

1 red is the colour associated with cardinals followed by initial letters of 'error everyone makes' = redeem

2 no idea what fold is about

3 past word is 'thy' surrounding rift = th-rift-y
