Last Man Standing

Post by Backlash » 04 Oct 2019, 18:17

I’m sure most have played this in the past but I can’t recall one ever being played here.

A simple competition where you pick a Premiership team every Game-week, (but never the same one) if they win you’re through to the next Game-week but any teams chosen that lose or draw are eliminated.

I’m currently playing one where’s there’s a twist and if you pick a duffer in the 1st Game-week only you can buy back in for the entry fee; I’ll adopt this rule too.

Your selections must be posted on here before the 1st game of the Game-week has started.

Hopefully there’s enough interest to get it going and keep running new ones through the season as they don’t tend to last for that long.
This will be open to all forums if anyone is interested.

Entry fee will be £10 and will start subject to there being a decent amount of entrants- 10 or less and I’ll scrap it.

Please post if you’re interested and I’ll send over payment details, the comp will start after the international break.

I’m in one at work... we’ve rolled over about 5 times (most of the field, including me, left this time round thanks to Norwich turning City over). Think our pot is up to about £1600... I’m hoping it goes tits up again.

Rollovers? How does that work Zim?

My initial proposal will be a one off entry fee which going on past involvement would last approx 8 weeks for around 20 players.
If by miracle all 20 teams had been chosen the pot would be split between any remaining survivors.

I’m happy to evolve the game though if there’s suggestions, I do like the idea of a pot building game.

Sounds awfully familiar to:

viewtopic.php?f=22&t=130513#p3329715

(this is free to enter and there are also loser, cleansheet and goalscorer variations)

It is, I’ve not seen that running; I should get around FISO more!

This obviously isn’t free but there will be payouts for the winners, horses for courses.

Re:Rollover
I used to be in one where all 92 Teams were involved & on 2 occasions £4000 was won after a rollover.

Basically if it gets down to last 2 players (possibly more) & they pick the wrong outcome it is Rolled over with everyone back in + a further £10 entry fee.

To miss out on such a big pot like that must be gutting so i guess if the prize pot was say in the hundreds & the above happened you could give the losing finalists free entry into following Rollover or if it ran into £1000s maybe a 10% split between the losing finalists.

Am in👍

Thanks Plev I’ll have a think on this, it’ll probably not be a goer anyhow due to a lack of interest.
