Ended up with this: Made one mistake, which gave me only one available move - down. And I'm quite bad at getting that 8192 back up to the upper right spot, where it has to be if you play by my tactic (the highest tile stays there for most of the game).

Having no internet for a while I gave this another go.

New high score of 78k but still some way from 8192. Screen shot of very near the end and near the end here

I still play occasionally and have yet to see the 8k tile. Have similar to above got 7.5k (4096, 2048, 1024 and 512) more than once but there is so little room for manoeuvre then if you get a bad break.

Anybody remember this game? Well, I finally got the 8192 tile
