Hull got flooded a number of years ago and nobody gave a toss.

I think this is only stunning in relation to the actual railway line - I'm sure the rest of the area is still screwed.

The fact that in 21st century Britain we managed to do the repairs ahead of schedule considering the hold-ups they experienced is well worth praising imo. I thought the target date was impossible.

Since this is only possible through the magic of Photoshop:

The story is that the neo-Nazis have apparently been using Cookie Monster as a recruitment tool for children. Not really worrying, just flat out bizarre LOL

I see at least one Chuckle Brother, Rob Brydon, Michael Palin and Tobey Maguire. I had no idea they were neo-Nazis.

There's nothing "neo" about those Nazis.

Good ol' Britain......

More than 5,000 people have attended a "knob throwing" competition in Dorset.

Dave Morrison tossed his knob 21.8m (71ft).

Other events included a knob eating contest  , knob darts  , knob weighing :D , and knob painting :? .

Now I'm a great fan of cats, but even I wouldn't claim they were anything but selfish little bigger.

This cat seems to prove me wrong:

GOOD kitty!

Two police officers who blasted out a rap song from their Essex patrol car late at night have been given "words of advice" by a senior officer.

A film was posted on YouTube showing the car in Chelmsford with KRS-One's Sound Of Da Police being played.

A spokeswoman said: "They acknowledged they had inappropriately used the patrol car PA system."

The YouTube clip shows the car blasting out the line "Woop, woop, it's the sound of da police".
Simply brilliant!

Think this one merits inclusion here.

We have road schemes held up and rerouted because of greater crested newts. In Iceland, it is elves....

This story would fit better in a thread about how things are better in the UK than abroad.

Taking that post at face value it's funny that two people read the same story and it ended up in both versions of this thread! :P

Hebocon is described as “a robot sumo-wrestling tournament for those who don't have the technical skills to actually make robots.”

:P 8-)

Dildobot

(skip to 6mins, if you must, to just see a rundown of the robots)
