Demarai Gray booked for revealing a Vichai tribute T-shirt after he scored.

If he had tw@tted the ref I would have fully supported him.

Sounds right, yes and the kid likes being all butch

Elder 2 are cousins.

Btw we need a CoT emoji type thing for us ignorant people
Or a "sweet summer child" as those unaware of the brutal realities of life in Westeros are known

I counted myself among them until a couple of years ago... "all that dragon shit doesn't appeal to me", etc. Eventually got round to finding out what all the fuss was about and was instantly hooked. It's TV crack. Anyway, still time for people to catch up before the final series comes out...

Well, they don't say "winter is coming" for nothing  (Spoiler: It takes a fair while to "officially" arrive...)

I love snowy scenery in TV/films, always looks spectacular and just really adds something to the atmosphere and tension.

Sod the spoiler, a few episodes are a few too many

Ski Sunday is the same, but that could be the lack of crashes as well. What is the point of Ski Jumping if no-one crashes?

We must be about due another Eddie the Eagle... if British competitors can cope with throwing themselves head first downhill on a tea-tray, why haven't we had a ski-jump hopeful in 30 years?

Nah    (I'm sure a Biopic was made about him, and mentioned it in that new thread  )

There was a bit of a battle for him to be allowed to "jump" as he was pants, but played the same sort of card that Eric the Eel et al played later, and probably before ie number of competitors no matter how bad - if I knew which year it was I could probably name the other few we had ie Curry\Cousins\"Copper and wifey" and maybe the Bell bros.

Now they have refined that stuff re quality and don't allow idiots like him in. Even V May had to win (well not be totally pants in) stuff, rather than just sashay(sp) out of the sea in something kinda see through as she fiddled away...

As an aside, the Ski Jumpers aren't that far off the slope - which was a pi55er when I realised they were only 10-20' above it - wimps

Paired pushbuttons notify partners about desire to have sex

Lovesync is a pushbutton system for romantic partners. Each partner gets a button. When one of the partners wants sex, they push the button. Nothing happens unless/until the other partner pushes their own button within a specified time window, then both buttons glow green. Lovesync is about 50% funded on Kickstarter.

Who said romance was dead

Certain people and corporations need to pay more tax which then needs to be fairly distributed.

Because we allow the second to become the former and it becomes a big story (to some)

Would be good for students looking for a hook-up; not so great for couples who should be able to read each other's signals ...

There again, presumably you first have to sync your device with your chosen partner, which would be difficult in the first example!

Good to see this thread has 35 pages vs 9

Don't be impressed

By things bought to impress
By the pain you inflict to make you feel whole
By the self-loathing you bear that I'm forced to endure
By your scheming and greed and self-centred desires
By the things that you watch that you don't see at all
By your judgements so false that are so far away

You never grew wise as age took it's toll
As your body decays with the inner corruption

Open your heart and feel the wind blow
Through that hole in your head where your brain used to grow

Who the eff are you trying to impress?
Impress yourself first before you try to impress

A bit angsty but you are allowed to call it when you're 53
Dad from North Yorkshire and mum from Battersea so I guess I had a head start

take care - Jim

Modern life

A few new and old observations (some borrowed)

nico 'I'll be your mirror'
We used to be called reflectors - Nico understood perfectly
(Pity about her politics)

If you sleep with dogs you get fleas
Too many remotes - I'll kill myself
Human resources my arse
Internet - university project gone wrong
Social media - conformity and bullying (good for showing off)
Don't try too hard you will never get there
I hated him when he started to talk before he said anything
British rail accountant counts the rail
Don't watch a gig through your device you're a facebook sucker
Evaluate your life before it's too late - don't aim for happiness through your tragic existence
What is the mid-life crisis?
Managers drive into my car - Ggggggggggreat
Boris J - handy cover up (1930's)
Capitalists - oh dear
old people rock

Modern life is depressing
Modern life is the disease
Your 'illness' is the symptom
The crash is the cure
Stick with it - you are getting better now

Queen
Deacy is not greedy Brian

Go to real ale pubs with real cover bands who can still play and are free

To paraphrase the wholesome Dave Chappelle
'why you may ask. Why fu&k them that's why' (Popcopy)
Not bad for an American

Leaked documents show A-level maths candidates had to score just 55% to get an A grade in this year's paper.

(I just got the numbers game correct on Countdown as did the middle aged challenger. The young champion was 4 out.)

55% - that's nearly half isn't it?

Was over half in my day. I blame the EU taking their share.

I actually scored 104% in a maths test once. The teacher explained it by saying it was actually a score out of 110 but they were calling it a percentage. So grade inflation isn't entirely new.....

Was that because the maths teacher wasn't able to work out what percentage 104/110 was?

I remember something very similar, but it was scaled down.

So 55 from 110 is a nailed on 50% unc was right 8-)

So, the way to tackle obesity is apparently... to ban eating, or drinking anything other than water, on public transport

I've heard some bonkers ideas recently, but this one takes the biscuit (or the cake, burger, chocolate bar etc...)

I saw the headline and thought of the train from London to Aberdeen and thst would be tricky without the free biscuits and packed lunch. Oh and the flight to Egypt or Caribbean?

I don’t think the proposal extended to flights... though one way of reducing people’s long haul flight usage would be to ban food I suppose (or worse still, booze!) Even if you’d gladly pay to not have the in flight meal on occasions...
