Scenario:
Wayne Rooney is driving in a car at a constant speed. On his left side is a valley and on his right side is a fire engine travelling at the same speed as him. In front of him is a galloping pig which is the same size as his car and he cannot overtake it. Behind him is a helicopter flying at ground level.
Both the giant pig and the helicopter are also travelling at the same speed as him. How does Rooney get out of this situation?

Where exactly does it say that Rooney is on the outside? Read the question FFS! Everyone knows that merrygorounds turn anti-clockwise with the riders facing the same way.Billy Whiz wrote:The fire engine and Rooney will take the same time to complete a full circle, but being on the outside, Rooney will have travelled further. Therefore Rooney must be going faster.

Correct the linear velocity (that speed to you num-nuts) will be less, as the fire engine will be on the inside, however, it is clear from the question that angular velocity is actually being refered to, and these are of course equal.
