Customer service

Well, just had to ring the US Customs and Border Protection customer service helpline to sort out a glitch with my ESTA (electronic visa waiver).

Expecting to be confronted with the same sort of surly unhelpful attitude that you get from Customs staff at US airports but couldn't be further from the truth. the most helpful person in the world sorted me out in about 5 minutes and genuinely seemed happy to help - OK I know it was probably just an act and he hates his job and goes home and kicks his cat round the house and he'll get the sack and end up on the streets with no home and no health insurance if people aren't happy, but he was good at it and it didn't come across as fake. It was a nice experience.

A complete contrast to the surly 'customer service' person I had the misfortune to talk to from my daughters bank yesterday. We don't really do customer service very well here do we...

Not quite sure why I felt the need to share that really. Think I must be bored.
