I think so. Should get as much pre season as the late starters who were at that silly FIFA Cup thing.

PS 1-1 tonight. Salah (Firmino) scoring on debut. Haven't studied match report but they named 2 teams for 2 halves and stuck to it I think. Few players back and some missing with minor niggles.

Stand out player in Afc game was Nelson young att mid player , interested to see where Kolasanic is used, could b leftside of back 3 or as left wing back. Would think Wenger will start season 3-4-3. Lacazette good finish looks good buy. If we can get our defence sorted could have good season, got caught couple of times no defenders on the break

AFC 3v WSW 1
Know its very early to judge anything in these games, but the transition from back to front is as last season getting cut out far to often and being caught light at back from counter attacks is still there.
Hopefully the upcoming CFC game will give a clue to pos start 11 and better idea how we go in season, in the 2 Ausy games when they have got it right they have looked good, nothing wrong with attack side of game, the new buy looks just what we needed, just hope Wenger can see the work needs to be done at the defending end, for sure we have the players who can be turned into a proper unit its way he chooses to use them that has to change
In my view he should let our big German CB sort it out, it showed in cup final what a football brain he has, very pleased that he will be staying at club when he retires.

Liverpool's Asia tour squad (only allowed 25 as Premier League rules - stupid)

Karius, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Firmino, Coutinho, Salah, Gomez, Henderson, Sturridge, Grujic, Klavan, Moreno, Lallana, Mignolet, Origi, Solanke, Matip, Stewart, Flanagan, Kent, Ward, Woodburn, Alexander-Arnold.

Ten notable(ish) absentees-
Lazar Markovic - on the move?
Lucas - on the move, Roma
Sheyi Ojo, expected to move to Middlesbrough on loan, is also omitted from the line-up, as are Pedro Chirivella and Connor Randall.
Sadio Mane, Danny Ings and Harry Wilson continue their recovery from injury, as does Mamadou Sakho, although the Frenchman's future lies away from Merseyside anyway.
Emre Can will also not travel as he has not yet returned following his time off after Germany's successful Confederations Cup campaign.

Not a lot of depth in that squad. I wonder how they will cope with the extra games this season...

Afc fortunate to get win Bayern had goal disallowed and Cech superb, but some positives from it, Ozil and Lacazette linked well, Welbeck, Ramsey looked very sharp and again young Nelson showing that he is ready to be seen as at least a bench player especially as so far he has been played out of position and not looked out of place.
Hope we will get to see us with a proper defence as going forward we look pretty good, the defence will be the key to how we go.

21July Manchester United V Manchester City
DeGea
Lindelof Smalling
Valencia Blind
Mikhitaryan
Herrera Lingard
Pogba
Rashford Lukuku

City team with a few younger players, looks like no clues as to lineups from Pep.
Ederson
Fernandinho Kompany
Moraes Walker
DeBruyne,
Yaya, Foden Roberts
Stirling Aguero
Lukuku scores from a difficult angle but nobody home in the City defence.
Smalling looking staunch for United.
Rashford scores

Was actually a quality game of football with 3 nice goals. Best pre-season game (1st half anyway) I have seen in many a year and still 3 weeks to go.

For info, Klopp experimented with Lallana AND Coutinho in the central midfield of a 433 first half. Wijno holding behind. 2nd half Coutinho moved to left wing before being subbed. 2nd half midfield was then Henderson holding behind Wijno/Kent and Grujic.

All 20 fit outfield players played a part in both games. Mignolet and Karius had 1 whole game each. Ward (3rd keeper, Huddersfield loan last year - going out on loan again????) didn't get a sniff.

Onto Germany where presumably Sane, Can and Robertson will join up and Clyne will be back from injury (was on Asia tour but didn't play)
