ANC News

Post by murf »

Anybody worried about Moroccan players going missing from their teams in January?

Don't worry now as they have refused to host (Ebola fears) and been thrown out.

New hosts to be announced soon.

Not been following the qualifiers personally but there is another round this weekend and by my reckoning there are still 2 more rounds after that. All a bit late as the finals are due to take place from 17 January to 8 February. Have they no consideration for FF players looking into the medium term???

Wouldn't surprise me if the whole thing isn't postponed for a few weeks/months, if not cancelled altogether. The combination of the fear of ebola together with the incredible inefficiency of football administrators in Africa is likely to be a dodgy mix if you want a major football tournament to be reorganised on time.

So for the time being as far as planning any fantasy team is concerned, I'd ignore this season's ACN until such time as there is some definite news.

They claim to have countries wanting to host but must say I am cynical too....

(PS I was wrong earlier - the useless BBC have them all having played 3 of 6 games with 1 set this weekend but they have all played 4 and then play twice this international break so we should know all the qualifiers by the next round of Premiership games)

They're coming home, they're coming home....

6 teams knocked out over last few days including Senegal (Mane, Diouf etc)

If Ivory Coast lose today then the Toures will be joining them on an early plane.

The Coasters scrape through so Yaya (and Bony) will still be absent for the weekend title decider... Cameroon on the flight home while Guinea and Mali (no PL involvement) have to draw lots after three 1-1 draws apiece. What's wrong with penalties, they did play each other in the final group game!
