Anyway, Jose was probably 10 minutes from the exit door tonight, Bale or no Bale...

Anyone watching the All or Nothing documentary on Prime? I've heard some people on the radio saying Jose comes across quite well on it but everything I have seen just reinforces my belief that he is a busted flush whose methods are dated and uninspiring to today's players.

His motivation just seems to be that to win the players must be aggressive and be a bunch of c**nts. I know you won't get to see everything especially with editing for TV, but I have to admit I was expecting a bit more in terms of tactics and a bit less in terms of just swearing a lot!!!

It is superb PR by Jose and Levy.... But the problem for Spurs is the lack of substance on the pitch.

I'm not sure Jose was seeing it as good PR!

I'm not sure that I have seen all of it, but he was on top, lovable form from what I have seen.

I do think it is sad, as he passes my trapped in a lift with test, but I'd rather have Arsene at Portman Road....

Depends which bits you saw I guess. In the dressing room / team briefing room he just seemed to be so negative all the time for me and just telling the players all the things they were doing wrong, with his solution generally being you have to be better than them and/or be c**nts (in the specific context implying foul whenever needed and try to get the opponents sent off to gain an advantage). Neither good coaching nor good management from my perspective.

I thought it showed some steel under his soft public persona.

He is an odd one as he passes my "Lift" Test, but fails my "Would I choose to play for" one. My current top 4 is Klopp, Arteta, Pep, Ole. Carlos is probably 5th.

He did say he refused to tell the TV documentary his tactics. And his team being aggressive ha, he doesn't like aggressive defending because your players are more likely to get beat or go out of position. But with less aggressive defending your less likely to get the ball back. Maybe some confusion in his tactics and what he says makes his players lost

It was looking so good for him before Christmas... but surely the delayed League Cup final is the only thing keeping Jose in a job right now? If it was in its usual slot, they would be lambs to the slaughter against Grand Slam-chasing City. No guarantee he will even last that long, of course. Only thing in their favour is that they’re above Arsenal, and that Kane’s not currently injured.

Only the power of the year ending in 1 seems to sustain any hope for him, and it’s yet to be proven that it carries any weight when the year doesn’t start with 1.

Rumours of a Poch return... is he really ready to quit Paris already, or just a last desperate throw of the dice from Levy to try and keep Kane?

Conte turns down the job. Can Everton tempt him instead?

Wouldn’t surprise me if Mason gets the Spurs job pretty much by default, then as per Tim Sherwood gets quickly discarded when they’re mid-table mid-season and someone high profile becomes available.

What, Kane as player-manager? Well, he’s only a year or two younger than Mason I suppose...

One way to get him to stay. Mind you if he was manager then he could sell himself.....

Like high-profile predecessors he’s finding that this isn’t a “quick fix” job, they just don’t have enough of the raw materials for success there now.

Years of transfer caution and poor signings have closed their window of potential success. They need to forget about pinning their hopes on big-name managers turning water into wine, cash in on Kane and Son now and spend a few years rebuilding under a young manager. Or find a mega-investor (any rich Middle Eastern states not yet accounted for?)

Jose Mourinho is reportedly being 'strongly considered' to become the new Paris Saint-Germain manager.

That's according to talkSPORT who claim Mourinho could replace Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the 2022/23 season.

History repeating itself? Firstly at Spurs, now potentially at PSG

They need a “no drama” manager who can get a ready-made squad of superstars performing. Someone like Ancelotti or Zidane. Think Jose would be a disaster there at this point in time.

If Serie A is a farmers league, what the hell does that make the Eredevisie where we’ve just hired our manager from?

If it continues to go to pot next season at United, we’ll know who to blame. Well, maybe joint responsibility with McClaren. At least they’ve started to weed a few out…
