Seems totally wrong to me. So PSG can come in and offer 100m for Eriksen our main midfield playmaker and we can't get a replacement.
Why isn't the transfer window the same for all of Europe?

Re: Transfer ruliing
It's the clubs' fault. They voted for it 14 to 6 in the Premier league. Doesn't seem like there was any effort to lobby other European leagues to do the same.
Spurs can always say no. Levy is good at that isn't he?

Re: Transfer ruliing
Presumably it was the Small 14 who voted for it, to avoid an unsettled squad and the risk of the likes of Zaha having their heads turned after the season started?
If a big club gets backed into a corner by a bid for a star player from abroad before the European window closes, it could end up with a messy split between those for and against the new rules. The World Cup didn’t help matters as it was hard to get deals done early, and it seems that clubs struggled to offload their deadwood to the continent to free up funds before the English window closed, when clubs in other countries are not yet at the panic buying stage.
