Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window
For sure if players reported to be coming do, will be a very different side to a typical Wenger set up, importantly we just might defend rather than trying to outscore in every game which was fine when we had DB Henry etc. We should have a better idea after 3 or 4 games, me I always look at our chances through one way specs thats at least a top 4 finish. Until I see how new guy sets up will hold judgement, but reported signings seem pretty sensible not a problem with any so far, maybe you know different.

Wolves sign Rui Patricio on a free, could be a good (hopefully cheap) option. Arsenal look like their signing Bernd Leno.

Looks like Mawson is going elsewhere, as they can't afford both CB's?

Jack Wilshere leaving Arsenal - I had to laugh when I read the following from his comments ....
"Following my meeting with the new manager I was made aware that although the reduced contract offer remained, it was made clear to me that my playing time would be significantly reduced should I decide to stay.
.... playing time significantly reduced .... he was never fit!

Spread betting season points are the best rankings, if they are out yet.RomynPG wrote: ↑13 Jun 2018, 19:17 (not sure where this should go - could be a number of places - don't really want to start a new thread - Rounded Keeper is closed so I hope it's ok here?)
Just looking at the average odds for 18/19 Premier League - for basic team ranking - so looked them up on oddschecker https://www.oddschecker.com/football/en ... gue/winner ...
Q. Why are Wolves so high up the ranking? ... and if bookies are way out does anyone have a better link that I can use to get a provisional ranking from.
Thanks ...and sorry for the mini tangent.

Re: Goalkeepers
I think he's seen as a Carrick (who got 24 PL goals in 481 appearances) replacement so Fred is a veritable goal machine with 1 in 10. . I'm guessing it'll be 433 next season with Matic and Fred as Pogba's enablers and in that case he'll have no excuses left. On that point, it might be time to set up the "2018/19 Jose's last season" blog thread...blahblah wrote: ↑21 Jun 2018, 19:46 Fred to MU 15 goals in 155 Apps

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window
Last season? Hmmm I definitely wouldn't discount it, but.... I was going to type settle somewhere, but he is still living in the middle of the building site around the Lowry?
So Fred's "creative brain" is more circle than box?
I think Jose needs to watch some Belgium matches re how Lulu plays with Hazard and KdB.....

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window
I was referring to his usual three season cycle but in answer to your questions: yes, yes and absolutely agree. Lukaku did well on scraps for most of last season. When you think of Cole scoring 30 but missing a couple of hundred each season, it makes you realise how spoilt we were for creativity in that era.
Anyway, enough United chit-chat for this thread, here's the new blog: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=127786

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window
Fingers crossed we(AFC) should sign Torriera in next few days plus Guendouzi from Lorient don't know much about later only young defence minded mid. It seems new manager has listened to fans and is intent on securing a strong defence very different buys than Wenger type.
Fair few other strong player links a winger and yet another but this time experienced mid player more to me a all round mid as well as yet another CB wait and see how true they are. Just a guess but would think going back to a 4 with a specialist holding mid covering them With Ozil and would think Ramsey playing as a central mid pair a version of 4-3-3 with width mainly from backs. Again just a guess but would think we will have basically 2 teams one for cup games and one for Prem make picking for FF a bit of a problem

Surely that’s good for FF purposes if you know your main men are playing every league game.

Mkh, Aub and Lac up top? Any idea who would be central? (subject to the winger link)
Monreal and Bellerin as FB's, so no chance for Kola?

Where does he fit in then? Competing with Sane, Sterling and Bernardo Silva for the wide positions... any way they could get more than two of those into a starting line-up?

Re: 2018 Summer Transfer Window
They've spent the second highest and finished second.
This isn't me doing a "United, United rah rah rah post", I think we are run in a shambolic way, brutally exposed in the post Ferguson era. But City's spending is off the scale considering who they are.

Does he? I've not seen him enough but he looks more like he has a quick brain than quick feet (a reverse Sterling).

And after 10 years of throwing money at the wall and seeing how little of it sticks, they are finally producing brilliant football. Which United certainly aren’t, even compared to the lesser spending Liverpool and Tottenham.

Borussia Dortmund and Germany left back, Erik Durm signs for Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee.
Looked a decent player 3/4 years ago but seems to have lost his way a little at Dortmund. The fresh start will hopefully do him good.

If you mean Pinon\Skakira he is a midget and I thought his pace was down there with his defensive ability against headers from Corners.murf wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 21:425 weeks later and Klopp takes him as a bargain "no brainer".
