12million - they are just trying to flush out other bidders for Koniplyanka to get more money.
He has also been linked with Man Utd.

With Markovic, Lucas, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Lallana, Sterling, Can, Lussey, Coady, Wilson we don't need any more bods in midfield.

Sanchez is a good buy from AW, hope they don't ruin him like they did Ozil.

Fulham paying 11M for a Leeds playing is me saying I hope they stay in the Championship.

What is it and W London clubs overspending?

I'm fearful that Ed doesn't have what it takes to land Vidal and di Maria.

What about the WC? Even in 7 goals today for example he wasn't involved in 1 and even missed that sitter to make it 8.

I am thinking there was a reason RM weren't all that worried about losing him. He needs to pick up the play or he will not be starting for Germany at the Euros (and maybe not for Arsenal once Walcott is up and running).

I think Ozil has undoubted quality and the old cliche that form is temporary but class is permanent does apply.

Started really well but faded badly for Arsenal last season and does need to work on his finishing which is a real weak point.

Not sure on Germany's midfield options but he's looked the least impressive so far.

I'd expect him to be a lot better next season though as foreign stars' can often struggle initially as they get used to the diffferent tempo and environment.

Sanchez is real quality and together with Debuchy will make Arsenal real contenders next year.

He's a great player with great skill, but does have a tendancy to go missing in tough games and his final ball is not always brilliant.

I think it was indicated in youtube video someone posted when he had just moved to Arsenal.. it showed him with all the tricks in the world and beating player after player, but hardly of the clips in that video seemed to end with him finding someone for a goal or him putting the ball in the net. I commented about that video at the time and was met with derision, but I still think the point was valid. I was commenting more on that particular "skill" video than anything else.

I still think he's a great player, mind you.

Have Arsenal got really short shorts this season? Can be the only reason Sanchez wants to come to the Gunners. Let th guy play in Speedo's - hen he can really show off those thighs.

Can't help but wonder whether Ozil would be more suited as a holding mid, does the basics well but clearly is missing something in his game to make him a valuable attacking player on a consistent basis.

Darent tackle… would be a liability as holding midfielder.

Witnessed him pull out of tackles 5 or 6 times this world cup.

I think he has plenty to offer as the creative midfielder. Lost his mojo in the latter half of the season (probably going from challenging for everything at Madrid to the realisation that he was in a nearly team began to sink in).

Not saying that will be the case forever at Arsenal (Sanchez is a great signing for them).

Ozils biggest trouble last year was who was playing in front of him - Olivier 'lamp post' Giroud. Put Sanchez and Walcott (pace and runners) either side of Giroud, and you will see the real Ozil. He also missed the runs of Ramsey and Ox when they got injured.

Szczesny
Debuchy - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Gibbs
Ramsey - Schneiderlin
Ozil
Walcott Sanchez
Giroud

They all stay fit we piss the league :D

They wont though.

whilst this thread at risk of being derailed… signing a Newcastle FB and Southampton midfielder doesnt transform Arsenal into title winners.

They still have a LB that cant manage 10 games on the trot.
They still have Mertesacker as CB.

When you have the most effective front 5 in England the defence wont matter :D

I stand by my point if key players stay fit Arsenal will seriously challenge for the title.

Surely most teams could say that... "If key players stay fit"

How do you define 'seriously challenge'?
Within 6 points?
Within 10?

Let's keep this to summer transfers (rumours) please.

Anyone wanting to talk Arsenal, can either go to the Arsenal blog under Football Opinions - or there is an interesting EM vs Achilles debate also occurring in there.
