Red Spotted Hanky (.com) Olympics

Post by Shaggy365 »

For those that played the Euros (and did quite well as a FISO league), this looks a nice little game for the Olympics.

http://www.games-redspottedhanky.com/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Simply predict which country will win selected events for the duration, although I imagine a lot of people will be picking the same countries.

Just added myself.

Unfortunately whilst I told others, I forgot to set myself up. Never mind, it's only a game.

Scoring system for this sucks, you may as well select your gold medal country to finish 2nd and 3rd as well. 20 points if they medal, 25 if two from the same country make the top 3. Out of principal i am not exploiting the daft rules but recommend it all the same.

Scoring just says 10 points if you predict the right medal and 5 points if the get a medal but not the one you predicted

That's what CY said.10 points *2 plus 5 if a country gets 2 medals.

You're right.
I misunderstood and thought he meant some sort of bonus points.

Looks like the equal 2nd in the Men's 200m Freestyle has caused a scenario the system can't cope with. 0 points for anyone predicting China (in any medal position).

That's true. Ashers is up there though as you say they haven't added China. You'd think they both get silver with no bronze though looks like that needs reprogramming in.

I don't think we should anymore to the league as the average is based over all entrants.
We are currently in sixth but all the leagues above us bar 1 have 5 entrants.

Does anyone have any objections?

Shame Missy Franklin came 4th in swimming.

Does anyone know how the tennis works tomorrow?

How can you predict medals when they are only in the 3rd round?

There's a bronze medal match so you just choose from those starting the 3rd round games.

Bronze medal tomorrow?

Medals are not until 4th August.

Or are we picking these in advance?

Wonder if they have got confused with table tennis?

No it's the 3rd round tomorrow.I was just confirming there was a bronze medal match rather than just giving 3rd and 4th a bronze each. It's the same day as the final on the 5th with the women's one one day behind that.

Just made my predictions for the tennis. The men's is quite easy (since I've heard of the 2 favourites), and the women's have a few countries with at 3 entrants still left in.

Any ideas about the cycling?

Only Germany have three left in the women's tennis and I can see that being one after tomorrow.

Cycling

Germany - T Martin
Switzerland F Cancellara
Great Britain - Wiggins and Froome

Going to be one of those four.
