The William Hill/Daily Mirror Jumps game launches this Fri 11 Nov.
According to a friendly local Hills shop manager the game format is same as in initial year:
£2 entry; no limit to number per person
use coupon at betting shop to select ten horses from list
£100,00 first prize; 50k for 2nd
contest runs from Hennessy day, Sat 26 Nov, to end of Cheltenham Festival next March.
Hope to make initial entry at betting office on launch day. When this eventually appears online (three days later last time) a Fiso mini-league will be set up.
Note there is no transfer amnesty on selections. There was no mini-league prize last time either so aim is simply to group entries together to make team and leaderboard access more user friendly during the season.
Further details will appear here: http://www.thejumps.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

New Shop opened nearby Sam. It's now only 26.3 miles there and 26.3 miles back.
Paul Maguire, the man who won £150,000 last season reveals his strategy on the Peter Martin site:
"I became aware of the alternative Hill's The Jumps competition through a visit to a shop and your write-up on here back in November 2010. I had a good study of the rules. The rules meant that, with all Cheltenham races being bonus races, winners at the festival were paramount given the scoring system."

Surprised that you only entered four teams Sam, given the low entry fee, the limited effort needed, and the large prize that The Jumps offers.
This is the perfect fantasy game for sticking in a pile of entries.
The TTTF is a bit expensive for a large entry, while most fantasy football games require sufficient attention that entering more than a few teams makes the whole thing a chore rather than fun, and the Sun FF while not needing much effort is a cr*p game.
So 36 Jumps entries for me. Significantly my largest fantasy entry in any game ever except a similar number in the same game last year.
Dunno about other people, but I was impressed with the processing this year. It took the Hill's guy less than five minutes to process all 36 forms. Last year it was about 15 minutes.

Ill be in with two - haven't registered the coupon number yet though, am guessing you register a stable name online at the same time? All i remember from last year's comp was setting up a list of first day runners, which was a total waste of time as everything was snowed off. Don't have that worry this year.
[quote="SamD"]First day scores are in. Looks like there are 101,000 teams registered online to date.
A cracking pace is being set: the three overall leaders are level on 105 points.
Meanwhile, in the nascent Fiso Jumpers mini-league:

The stables at the top have clearly gone for the monthly prize as the majority of the horses in their stables were in the Hennessey or the Fighting Fifth so the gamb worked for those races but will fal short as wasted alot of horses.
Regarding number of entries,I entered 5 stables(best on 30pts)but 3 I did friday morning.I tried to put in coupon numbers from those 3 online and wouldn't work.Emailed them and they said they've had trouble getting all the forms to them on time and alot yet to be added and to enter them in couple of days.
For some reason the 3 I purchased extra on friday haven't got the option to join a minileague.I've mailed them to see why and when they can will add them.Hope soon as that's the 3 that have got points!

The join a Mini League facility seems to have disappeared and I can't even view the Fiso League at the moment.
Once it is up and running again this is what you have to do.
Step 1: Log in to your stable and then click 'League' on the navigation bar and then "Mini-League Admin" on that page.
Step 2:
Join a Mini-League: Select the option 'Join a Mini-League' and enter the Mini-League title and password given to you by the person who invited you to join.
league: Fiso Jumpers
password: forumites
Step 3: To view your Mini-Leagues at any time, click 'League' on the navigation bar and then "Mini-League Admin" on that page. From here you can track your progress and review your Mini-League members. You can also access your Mini-Leagues from the 'My Mini-League' link on your 'Stable' page.
If you have joined a Mini-League you will not see your team in the league until the Chairman has accepted your request.
teams "mentally stable" and "unmentally stable" added, hope things are working ok now. Had wanted the name "mentally unstable" but someone has beaten me to it, make of that what you will.
Thanks for posting team names. Your four sides have just been accepted, making 31 in the FISO league.
Note that stables recently added to the league may have to wait up to 24 hours to appear online.
Another five are in the application queue, waiting for an entrant to identify his teams here.
