2019-20 Tote Ten to Follow: Jumps * £250k prize pool *

Post by SamD »

After a five-year hiatus, the new Tote group is relaunching the Ten To Follow Jumps competition.

It will cost £5 to pick a stable and be in with a chance of winning at least £250,000 worth of prizes and the more people who play, the bigger the prizes will be.

There will also be a free-to-play version with a £10,000 prize to the winner.

Tote Ten to Follow registration will launch later in November. The game will run from Saturday 30 November to Saturday 25 April 2020.

Customers can read the full details about the game, including the list of eligible horses, and register their interest here: https://tote.co.uk/ten-to-follow

It's looking like a last minute entry for me, just hope I avoid internet traffic.

They should have a transfer amnesty in place like they do in FF.

You'll find a A to Z of the runners on the Racing Post website with a write up for each horse.

With most of the bonus races being for staying chases I'm going to up my selections in the Ladbrokes Trophy to maybe three in the hope of snaring a real improver. Only one guarantee in that is I'll have the winner somewhere in some dodgy line which keeps up the interest for a while. Hope the entries are high enough to keep this going.

While you are clearly correct in saying that most of the bonus races are for staying chasers, I'm not convinced that that means one should go overboard on selections for the Ladbrokes Trophy. I target the King George, the Irish Champion Hurdle and the seven Cheltenham races. If one can land most of these, then one may not need much of a contribution from the handicap chases where the winners are far more difficult to find. I was tempted to completely ignore the Ladbrokes, but in the end chickened out so that I've got just one selection per two stables. The most tempting were based on the possiblity of a double with the Welsh National, unlikely though that is.

As regards transfers, hopefully one will go into Cheltenham with a good coverage of the main hopes and can try to fill the odd Cheltenham "hole" and use any spare transfers to have a go at the Aintree Hurdle or the Grand National. Hopefully by this time few of the leading entrants will have viable Scottish National or 365 hopes in their stables.

Early days but I'm happy so far. Don't think the second horse was in the list which would have been a disaster for me, but I had the winner in a few lines and in my best line (15th) I snagged another winner. The each way bet innovation I like :) That could make a difference in the handicaps later on. Some good Irish racing tomorrow - w/b ttf.

Interesting looking at your currently best stable as it shows the breadth of punters selections, In my teams 11 horses took up around 75% of my selection slots over my entire entry. Of my most used 14 horses, only two (Lost and Klassical) are in Abilene 34. So while wishing you the best of luck over the season, I hope that Abilene 34 isn't among your best finishers.
