great stuff, following Cheltenham, would be rude not to bring Gardiner's Hoofers, Doofeds and Foofers again. 8-)

Tried to put my stable in just before 2 pm and it said "Leagues Closed". How dumb is that 2 hrs before the first relevant race.

Anyway see you guys in the overall league with my only team "No Steroids Please".

P.S. Can anyone throw any light on the deadlines for this game. At about 1.45 yesterday I went into my team to do a last minute tweak to my jockeys and trainers but I couldn't find any link which enabled me to do so. Was I dumber than usual or was there some rule about not being able to change one's line up once one had initially set it up. If that is the case it's a bit inconsistent given that one can make a couple of changes to line ups at the end of every phase.

Secondly my reading of the rules is that one could enter mini leagues up to 3.50 pm yesterday even though I got the "Leagues Closed" message just before 2 pm. Am I mistaken?

Is anyone playing this game?

The rule and point scoring changes since last year have significantly improved the game. There is now some point in actually selecting the horses that you favour to win, whereas in the past you had to choose outsiders.

Thanks. As I mentioned above I tried to join your league when I entered my own stable, but for some reason entries closed at least a couple of hours before the first race.

It's a decent game this year although as there is obviously no pattern to Champions Series races, there is still the problem of remembering to choose one's horses, every time even when one is following horse racing generally. I myself am far more likely to remember to put my bets on than I am to remember that I must remember to nominate a couple of horses for TFR.

It must be even more difficult for anyone who has entered purely from a fantasy perspective without much real interest in racing to remember every time. It's not like fantasy football where as a matter of course many of us spend an hour on Friday evening or Saturday morning thinking about transfers.

I think most who have entered have at least some interest in horse racing but it is difficult to remember to enter. Most races seem to happen on a Saturday but that won't always be the case and last year I missed a few races.

You can download an ics file of the BCS races and upload that into google calender to use on your phone or to send reminders

That's not that surprising, although obviously against the odds, as you still had all your jockeys and trainers potentially scoring for you, and you were only missing your two horses.

indeed! forgot for the 1st time (and i'll bet not the last! :) ) this season to choose horses on saturday - although Robert Cowell got me a shed-load of points for a winner at 14-1...

next horses that need to be chosen are for a race on friday, and two on saturday...
