Captain changes
If I captain Neymar today and he scores 10 say. (doubled to 20)
Then decide I want to keep Neymar in my team, but would rather try out Muller as my captain
Can I just move the captaincy to Muller. Or is the only way to move the captaincy to also take out Neymar from the team?

No, you should be able to just use the change captain button and the top and keep Neymar in your teamsparx14 wrote:If I captain Neymar today and he scores 10 say. (doubled to 20)

With Neymar scoring well in R1 I stuck with him and didn't have to consider this.
Is the tactic to switch captain every game until someone gets a good score?

Yes but be careful as I did that and it ended on Deburyne who got 8. Difficult to get right as defenders are now a consideration so more choice.

Re: Captain changes
Yeah, I had Neymar for Mexico match (after he did me well last week) but he only got 7 points so I changed to Blind for yesterday's game. He didn't do very well either though so going with J Rod for Columbia game today (then probably end up subbing him out...)

You can move it to anyone who hasn't played, but is in your XI, obviously.

Re: Captain changes
Rodriquez with an 11. It's good, but is it enough to ignore the fact that Messi is up against Iran later? If not, how much is? I'm tempted to stick due to only having Pjanic and De Bruyne as options if he fails.

Got the armband on him at the moment with Benzema and Messi to play, its a good score but seeing how poor Iran were Messi could score big.GingerMonkey wrote:Rodriquez with an 11. In the same boat and may well risk it. But then again...

I know, I think that's largely because Nigeria are awful, I'm undecided aswell.Smurphy's Paw wrote:Poor, but didn't concede.MartyBhoy7 wrote:Got the armband on him at the moment with Benzema and Messi to play, its a good score but seeing how poor Iran were Messi could score big.GingerMonkey wrote:Rodriquez with an 11. Re: Captain changes
I'm currently on Perišić's 12, but don't have any big hitters that could make me change captaincy (i.e. Messi, Mueller, Benzema).
If I did, I would certainly change it: if they score one goal, they will end up with point score between 8 and 10, depending on yellow cards and balls delivered/passes intercepted. If they do just that, you'll effectively lose only 2-3 pts, but if they can assist or score some more. Moreover, when you see how many penalties have been awarded this WC and they are all takers.
I think the gamble is worth it, this is the type of "all or nothing" game.

Re: Captain changes
For what it's worth, I've got the same decision to make and will most likely gamble. 11 is tempting to stick with but it's only 1 goal and a few extras.
Neymar > Rodriguez > Benzema > Messi > Pjanic > De Bruyne > Mbolhi

My Greek keeper scored 12, I'm sticking - If I had Messi I'd probably switch though.

Re: Captain changes
Messi he's rubbish in his NT. Always vomiting on the pitch and what not. What's that about?
My Greek keeper also scored 12, I didn't captain him though The armband is also still on Perišić's 12. Benzema and Higuain also in my team who can score well although I think Switzerland won't give France a lot of chances. Dzeko might score a few against the Nigerians. I will probably stick with my Croatian though.

I'm tempted to stick now. I always said to myself, hit a double figure score and settle.

I lost 3 or 4 points by not going from T Silva to Suarez
And 3 by keeping (ho ho) Cesar rather than bringing in Karnezis

Re: Captain changes
Captaining a defender or a goalkeeper seems like a sensible choice. They score more 'bogus' points - blocked shots, etc. - than the midfielders/strikers. This allows them to get a decent score even if they can't hold a clean sheet. I had Manolas playing yesterday and he finished with 13, i'd have taken that from my captain. Now i'm tempted to captain Varane.
Might be a better option than playing the lottery with the likes of Cabaye, Montero, Aguero, Dzeko, Kroos, Di Maria etc.
