Annoyed at myself for picking Hazard over Lukaku but at least he has an assist now.
Lukaku is fairly eating into Ronaldo's Golden Boot lead.

Don't know what Sterling's grinning about. Off-side or not, it's his usual goofery.

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
At last some decent points! Lukaku (c)....along with 2 CSs.
57 pts with Rodriguez left to play.
Im thinking of putting Salah in for tomorrow but is he still a doubt?
Edit - just noticed you could wait for lineups tomorrow.

If you just picked a team of penalty takers you would be doing well

Typical. Take out the non playing Sidibie for set piece taking Trippier and hit the bench boost and I'm all set for Round 2. Then Sanchez gets sent off

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
Wildcard in play after the Sanchez sending off, Dzagoev's injury and stupidly picking Marquinhos.
Ochoa/Uzoho
Danilo/Mirando/Varela/Nacho/Maguire
Isco/Cheryshev/Sanchez (URU)/Meza/Inui
Kane/Ronaldo/Griezmann
0.5 ITB. Nervous about lack of Germans/attacking Brazilians but you can't pick them all.

While we're sharing wildcard squads....
Neuer, Uzoho
Godín, Hegazy, Pavard, Varela, H. Sakai
Coutinho, Pogba, Isco, Gazinsky, Inui
Ronaldo, Suárez, Costa
I've gone for balance. Or what I hope is balance anyway. Went heavy on Uruguay for their game against the Saudis, expecting big things from them and Suárez in particular. The original plan was a pick a strong team for the first round of games and then wildcard for the last two rounds when I've seen all the teams play. Got off to a pretty good start so I'm sticking with the plan.
And what a lovable front three I've got for myself!

That's Group A done and dusted then. Credit to Russia, they've been brilliant.
At least now with nothing riding on the Saudi game, Egypt can play El-Hadary in goal, which will be a nice moment for the 45 year-old as he becomes the oldest player in World Cup history.

If I downed a short everytime Pearce et al said how
much of a shame it’s been that Salah is not fully fit I’d be incoherent.

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
Because they are all forwards. Silva only plays in the front 3 of a 4-3-3 system for Spain. Hazard is certainly a forward in all systems for club and country. Silva players as a midfielder too a lot for Man City, but for Spain he's been playing as a forward. Reus and Mane are certainly forwards, not midfielders. Players should be classified by what they are, not to create an easier team spread. I've been saying the same about Premier League fantasy football, they have plenty classified as midfielders that should be classified as forwards.Pirlo's Beard wrote: ↑17 Jun 2018, 19:00 Anyone else bothered by how they've classified some of the players in this game? Seems to me there are too many top forwards to choose between and not enough top midfielders.
I mean, they could easily have classified the likes of Hazard, Mané, and Reus as midfielders for example. They've even classified David bloody Silva as a forward!

I had him round 1 because of that.Pirlo's Beard wrote: ↑18 Jun 2018, 14:34 Granqvist on penalties for Sweden, interesting. Pity they have two tough games coming up.
However, most of my team has flopped badly apart from him and Schmeichel.

I've captained Cheryshev 14 pts. I have loaded up on Todays games. Ronaldo, Cavani, Costa, Nacho, Muslera, Patricio, Cedric, Varela. Really dont know whether to stick or twist captain wise.
Max Captained in 1st round

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
FWIW, I twisted my Cheryshev (C) into a Ronaldo (C) with Nacho, Isco, Varela, Sanchez all playing. Kane v Panama should surely be a decent backup.
