Re: F1 2011
Was going to start an F1 chit chat thread but hadn't quite got round to it....yet. Would save doing a separate thread for each GP or people posting about the GP's on Murf's predictions. Great to see Di Resta land a drive - and a decent one at that Also, first Venezuelan in F1 since Jonny Cecotto - anyone remember him ? Smashed both legs in a Toleman (at Brands I think) back in 84 after inpressing for Theodore but then it couldn't be easy having one A Senna da Silva as a team mate.
Wonder if the Lotus naming row has been sorted ? There was a Team Lotus and a Lotus Racing at one point Wll have to see what has happened to this...

Re: F1 2011
I had to really resist looking at this week's testing times in too much depth or I'd have set a top 10 in my head and would be too inflexible for developments from later testing.Mintman wrote:Good stuff murf!! Looking forward to it already!!
Every year I say I'll get into a proper fantasy F1 comp but I never like any I try (dodgy point systems mostly) so don't stick with them.

Re: F1 2011
Kubica - bad crash in a rally. Earlier described as 'serious injuries', now confirmed as broken arm and leg. More news to come.

There are rumours - I stress that, RUMOURS - of Armco going into the cockpit and consideration of whether a hand needed amputation. Next update from doctors around 4pm.murf wrote:Kubica - bad crash in a rally. Earlier described as 'serious injuries', now confirmed as broken arm and leg. More news to come.

Re: F1 2011
Nick Heidfeld - confirmed as Kubica's replacement for the 'foreseeable future'.
There is still a little doubt over the opening GP in Bahrain because of the 'unrest' there. They've cancelled a GP2 Asia practice today as all the medical staff were ordered to the hospitals. [EDIT - and now cancelled the whole meeting]BBC story

Photomontage of expected Bahrain GP grid:
Looking more likely that the F1 testing in Bahrain will be postponed (today?) with the GP to follow?????
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 402871.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
EDIT - A bit earlier than expected the whole GP is called off!
The season should now start two weeks later - Oz GP 25-27 March
