Metro Fantasy F1 - 2010

Post by bluenosey »

Metro Fantasy F1 is back :D

Unfortunately, the site doesn't seem to be working properly at the moment but I will set up A FISO F1 mini league when it is. Watch this space. (Edit - now done)

Mini League name - FISO Formula 1
Pin Number - 3000232

Details :http://fantasyracing.metro.co.uk/

Free to enter and £150 up for grabs each GP weekend :D This replaces the Scalextric set on offer last year and is a bit more appealing to be honest.......I can see Mintman drafting his five teams right now

Cool - at least there aren't two FISO leagues.

I expect the big guns - Mclaren and Ferrari - to re-emerge this year. Red Bull will still be there or thereabouts. To be honest, JB made it a bit boring at the start of last year. It only seemed good because Jense ie English :D . 2007 and 2008 were much more thrilling, well, the finale's were.

PS I note that USGP are shown as one of the teams on the Metro site. Presumably, this will be deleted when you have to pick the worst performing team ?

I entered for registration on this game yesterday.
There is a Choose your Constructors Rule error! and I have not been given a PIN number so if I need to fill out the enquiry form I can't.
The confirmation of my teams & drivers email sent me after registering, had Schumacher in the Lotus!!
They don't answer the phones either!

Welcome to the forum, Tuscan Driver.

My team registered OK but the site is a big "buggy". I had a confirmation e-mail after I set up my team, with all my teams/drivers but no pin number. I assume the pin number will show when you log in ? Anyway, four more to do, so I'll see how they pan out.

Cheers for the welcome bluenoseyparker.
Four more to do here also however, their is no showing of PIN number when I am logged in hence the 'bug' in their works.

Last year I entered and everything was fine.
I'm assuming no PIN and your scores don't get credited because the account is not logged by their system, unless the PIN is activated after the two practise races.
The 'Choose Your Constructors' rule is repeated below with the underlined error and below that the email I was sent with Schumacher in the Lotus.

They have just emailed me with an amended adjustment to the one above with 'US F1' team withdrawn.
If you thought the last had 'minor' glitches, look at this one

I'm giving this a go this year as the ITV game is defunct and this seems to have pretty much the same rules anyway...but can this rule be true?

Changing your team
Prior to the start of each GP, you will be able to completely reselect your constructor/driver line up and new predictions.

Can imagine a lot of very samey teams as the season develops. Someone tell me I've read this incorrectly.

As you read it, I have read it exactly the same way so you are correct.
Metro allow you to revise your Driver/Team selections race by race.

I think this is right...although I'm not 100% sure. Mintman, can you kindly clarify for Darbyand ? Cheers.

PS Tuscan Driver - Jeez, Metro have made a bit of a pigs ear of your team. Hope this isn't a taste of things to come

Yeah, selections can be changed right up the start of the event, and race selections can also be changed after practice/qualifying to prepare for the race. I wouldn't say that all teams become samey, but if a low budget team does well then most people will probably jump on the bandwagon. This was the case last year with Brawn GP. I've just thrown my teams into the mini league, there doesn't seem to be many playing this year?

Well, I've chucked a team in so will be following the scoring with interest.... though the race prediction points will mask the constructor/driver choices I reckon will become homogenous.

not sure what a good score is as it's very difficult to pick a team which has all 4 drivers finishing in a team with 2 of the big guns in it - so at least one -5 seems likely. I think I have 124 in one team but that had Sutil over Liuzzi so a few missed there. 130 could be good enough - anyone?

To anybody from The Metro GP Game.

If you look from time to time on this forum board (I doubt you do) I have only 2 of my teams registered in your GP game out of my 5! :x
Thanks for the amendment

Well, I'd refer you to the 1st post on this thread which is an invite to join the superleague, but there's room for both on this thread.

That's a curious thing to say from a member of 10 days with 7 posts so far. I'm not playing the post count card as there's many on here with a lot more than me...but I like to think I take an effort to familiarise myself with the site and the correct boards etc.

We just tend to post the FISO league on here Tuscan Driver. By all means share your scores with us if you think you have posted a good score and you think you stand a chance of winning the GP prize (as Mintman did last year) but if you find last year's thread, you will see that I just listed the top 20 FISOers after each race, which is why Darbyand posted what he did (BTW thanks Darbyand - hope they update the scores after the next GP a bit earlier!)

I assumed 'Darbyand' was referring to Football, rather than F1 as 'league' is not a name I'm familiar with in F1 motorsport anyhow, apologies to 'Darbyand' and I'd better not play the age count card either

I joined up and think my chances are fairly high...of finishing last!

No worries fella, I thought there had to be some confusion going on here.

And let that be the last mention of post counts (apart from that one  )
