Telegraph 'Hit and Hope' open for business!
Hello chums...I see that the above ( or T20,if you insist) has opened for registration..
I generally can't stand this ephemeral manifestation of The Great Game....Absolutely no idea if I will enter a team just to keep abreast...
Good luck to all of you who take this seriously...really!
Best to all...DD...

Like the changes made to scoring points. Run Outs included and bowlers run rate up to less than 6 per over.

Yorkshire name 14 so its really hard to work out who is playing.
Lancs I know have no Mahmood and no Livingstone
Kent will have no Denly I assume due to Test with Ireland
Anyone else finding it hard to sort their XIs?

Havenât even started yet. Couldâve done with a longer gap between the end of the World Cup and this really.
Will have to chuck a few teams together at work tomorrow morning.

Re: Telegraph 'Hit and Hope' open for business!
England pre-Ashes squad of 16 due at a training camp this weekend presumably rules out a number of potential picks for the first few games (Roy, Denly, Ali, etc...and, most interestingly, Lewis Gregory who, last time I looked, was the most-picked bowler).02bburco wrote:

Yes, itâs a challenge to get a decent 11, all of whom are guaranteed to play the first games. In particular, a lot of the popular cheapies (1-2-rated) donât look nailed-on starters.
May need to go with a more boring set of middle-rated stalwarts then re-jig later...

Ali's been made available for the first two games according to their site, not sure on the others.robgraham wrote: â17 Jul 2019, 20:18England pre-Ashes squad of 16 due at a training camp this weekend presumably rules out a number of potential picks for the first few games (Roy, Denly, Ali, etc...and, most interestingly, Lewis Gregory who, last time I looked, was the most-picked bowler).02bburco wrote:

Re: Telegraph 'Hit and Hope' open for business!
The England selections always lead to confusion on availability. I'm trying to find out if Gregory may be made available for the Thursday & Friday games before the weekend training camp (not sure which day this requires them to be in attendance). With the Ireland fixture coming up soon, a longer absence would allow me to make drastic changes if he isn't available for the first two.
Some Essex squad news would be nice too, have not found any word from them yet and have doubts about Westley. He was my 11th spot filler, but I can make a nice upgrade there if Gregory is out, or keep him in if he looks set to play as that would allow me to split my bowlers better with 6+6 rather than 8+4. At least Essex are first up (weather permitting) so it should all be clear by the launch.
This made me chuckle, c'mon The Wurzels!

Quite correct! No news on the squad for today yet at Somerset.

Craig Overton is another interesting one. Would be a no-brainer, rated 4. But hardly played in last seasonâs comp. I donât know why not and canât think of any good reason why he shouldnât play this season...particularly if Gregory is off with England.

Craig Overton plays. A bargain at 4.
Other bargains (based on 45 mins of the new season ): Sowter of Middx (everyoneâs got him already) at 2. Helm at 4. (Both also got a bunch of wickets in the 50-over game earlier in the season.) Lawlor of Glam (who he?!) at 4. Matt Carter of Notts at 2.

Please forgive me basking in glory, for 1 more day at least. I somehow managed to pick a near-perfect day-1 side in one of my teams so scored 979 and Iâm *still* top!
(Itâs all downhill from here! )
Looks like a total washout today and possibly tomorrow too. Step away from the transfer button...

Forgot about the 2.30 start time today. Probably would have risked some transfers as well. Bucketing it down in Leicester at the moment. Good old Durham playing though, they have a different climate up there though to everyone else

What a bizarre match. Throw in Zampa wicket maiden in a 15 over slog! Of course I have Tom Curran. Donât remember this from Delport when he was at Leicester!
