As mentioned in a reply elsewhere, TFC will be back in 2017 - here's official confirmation, plus news of a mini predictor game for the ODIs coming up later this week;

Please and surprised to see this:
'For fans of the season-long County Championship version of Telegraph Fantasy Cricket, watch this space as the game will return as usual towards the end of March'
I thought it was gone this time.

Re: TFC 2017
lol DD, no worries. OK Hard to improve on the great ins and outs website page from the BBC, but I have had a go, and will update in red any new moves from now for a couple of months, if anyone has anymore information please post and I will update that onto the lists. Hoping to upgrade my site soon, impossible to cover everything of course. But anyway having fun at the very blunt end.

Most teams have more outs than Ins, and probably because the season does not chop and change formats quite so abruptly, there are no daft change overs finishing at 7pm and starting at 2pm next day 100 miles away, they have all gone. So I think this has meant the counties can have slightly smaller squads. Not massively but 2 or 3 players for quite a few counties.
Can't be long to the launch now ...18 days to go.

Re: TFC 2017
they need to get a shift on, i have my league's draft on 27th March, need a site to base it on! Running the risk of having to use last year's player lists and hoping positions stay the same.

I would have thought the earlier they got TFC 2017 out, the greater the potential overall numbers = profit/hits.

I didn't realise England play their first test in July, do you think the likes of Broad, Cook & Jimmy will be fully available until then?

Re: TFC 2017
In previous years TFC did not always start with the first games of the season... I found this useful ,with the University games etc out of the way and a chance to see the form of minor players..
This close to the wire, I wonder if this will happen again?
DD.

Re: TFC 2017
I remember the days when it didn't start at the beginning of the season, didn't have a problem with it at the time but it is much better starting at beginning of season. There's still 17 days til the start, plenty of time yet

I think they will, three months availability without interruption that will be a novelty. Can't see Jimmy playing all of them, but Cook should and probably will I would have thought. Broad I expect will play 70% or something like that?getfunky wrote:I didn't realise England play their first test in July, do you think the likes of Broad, Cook & Jimmy will be fully available until then?

Re: TFC 2017
Thanks for all of this! I had looked at The Cricketer site earlier and saw the cover of the new edition but couldn't see anything about the wall chart. Being daft, I like to have physical items when I have limited computer access. If there is one, I will ask my son to buy a copy and post to me.... will be in Australia in about five weeks time..just in time for winter!
Great that the game is about to launch.... Can't run my own sad little league this year but just have to have a few teams for the fun!☺
Such anticipation!

So many 8s and 9s! There's going to be some rough looking teams.

on the otherhand you have Rushworth & Pattinson listed at 4 which looks a bit generous to meExcession wrote:So many 8s and 9s! There's going to be some rough looking teams.

James Franklin looks interesting as a 5 rated wicket keeper!

Re: TFC 2017
Well for what it's worth I think it's a lot more interesting when there are loads of 8s and 9s and you are priced out of buying too many of the obvious/better players. Means a lot more thinking, taking chances on different players and more variation between teams. Should hopefully reward those (many on here) who put a lot of effort/research in.
Thank the lord it's on again, roll on the big launch and good luck to all.

Re: TFC 2017
I'm sure that the ratings will change as there has never been 2 x wicket keepers listed at 9!! I think that they are VERY provisional and would be surprised if the numbers didn't come down appreciably. It has been a while that they even had 9's as there tended to be a few 8's only for the main 3 categories with only a couple of 7's for the wicket keepers. As for Franklin being listed as a keeper!!getfunky wrote:on the otherhand you have Rushworth & Pattinson listed at 4 which looks a bit generous to meExcession wrote:So many 8s and 9s! Re: TFC 2017
Any advice for me. Played last year and thought I had a solid team but fell behind so quick. Think the game is hard due to so many games being washed out. Is this the secret just to get players playing early on?.
All help welcome as I love cricket and just want to be a little competitive

I have been back on The Cricketer site and it seems that the new edition does indeed include the fixtures wall chart! Triples all around!

Re: TFC 2017
I'm in a 5 man draft league, drafting on monday. We each pick 15 players (5 bats, 5 bowls, 3 ar, 2 keepers), best 11 in a valid formation (4,4,2,1) at the end of the season count as your team. Having come 9th in TFC last year i have a decent knowledge level, but have been pretty oblivious over the winter.
If you could draft any 15 players, with no budget restrictions, who would be your key targets? A few gambles are welcome, as the bottom scorer in each position won't count towards my team score....

Re: TFC 2017
Looks a bit rushed. The Offers page still says 2016 and the Game description states player values 1 to 8 (8 being max). Some players eg Duckett have zeroes for last years scores. But I did get a team I was happy with for 56!
Think it was 10 Teams for £20 last year - is £25 this time.

Is it glitchy for anyone else when you switch to two all rounders?
