IPL 2017
Interesting auction today, massive price for Ben Stokes, life changing contract for Tymal Mills.
Seriously good players left unsold, such as Sean Abbott, standout player of the Big Bash, Ben Dunk, Imran Tahir, Jason Holder, Nathan Lyon, Wayne Parnell, James Neesham and Mitchell Santner.

Re: IPL 2017
Yes some interesting ones like you say, thought Mills was tad expensive, think Woakes and Roy will do well. It starts two days before our season starts and goes on and on, but fits in pretty well, all of them bar Morgan have been given a pass to miss the Ireland ODI's. Then the final is 21st May and the ODI against SA are 24th 27th 29th May and then the Champions Trophy starts 1st June!

Has this been confirmed as I read earlier that Roy & Billings will be joining up with the squad on May 1st with Morgan.ooozzzie wrote:all of them bar Morgan have been given a pass to miss the Ireland ODI's.

Re: IPL 2017
You are probably right the bit I was reading was 3 or 4 weeks old, also it said that Stokes was happy to go back as England comes 1st. A little break back in Englandgetfunky wrote:Has this been confirmed as I read earlier that Roy & Billings will be joining up with the squad on May 1st with Morgan.ooozzzie wrote:all of them bar Morgan have been given a pass to miss the Ireland ODI's.
all paid for to play for England isn't really going to worry them a great deal. I think they were given the choice, so Roy and Billings won't want to lose their place in
the Champions Trophy, so looks like they will come back doesn't it. Not worth the fuss, and reading between the lines, perhaps a little public test for Morgan after
Bangladeshgate as he was told you will be playing.

At last I have been checking every day as well. It starts on Wednesday! I have created a league Catman
FISO 2017
Code u5axSTEf (Given to me unfortunately, not my choice I can assure you)
Not easy, the squads are massive. But its a long game in the context of short games

Re: IPL 2017
is it the same rules as last year when you could adjust your team/captain after the games had started?

Re: IPL 2017
Yeah found it, you have to select a team before you can view the rules.
It says "Any changes to the designated Power Player made during the course of any match will only take effect for the next match" so no more changing your power player after 30 mins of the game.

Yeah which was the weirdest rule I have ever seen..........mainly because I never saw itgetfunky wrote:Yeah found it, you have to select a team before you can view the rules.

It was a bit disaster last year, with the false start, but this looks quite good, so far so good anyway.
3.30pm BST tomorrow 5th April it all starts if anyone wants to join us.

Just a warning that De Villiers, Kohli, Rahul & Rahman won't be playing as they're injured or being rested.
Also you can make one free transfer a game (uncapped players only) which they left out of the game last season (I think).

Final Chance starts 3.30pm today 12 in the league which is pretty good. I am out all day but back before the start, if you do enter the league then
it will be approved before the start. (Doubt it matters but to be on the safe side)

Golden Eagles soar to top of first FISO 2017 table (think they have 699 points).

Just for a change, the website isn't working correctly, and no-one could make a free uncapped transfer, so we are ALL getting an extra transfer credited (once they work out how to do that )

I noticed this earlier when I tried to transfer in an uncapped player as it was deducting from my transfers but when I saved it it went through ok, I ended up making two changes & only one was deductedooozzzie wrote:Just for a change, the website isn't working correctly, and no-one could make a free uncapped transfer, so we are ALL getting an extra transfer credited (once they work out how to do that )

Re: IPL 2017
So Dwayne Smith comes in on the last ball of the 20 overs, is at the non strikers end, and does not get to face a ball, but is given -5 points for a duck even tho he was not out. Seems a bit rough also bad form by GL putting him in at 6!

Yes 18, but doesn't look it, looks older, but I remember him, he clean bowled Stokes in the T20 World Cup year last feb! The Afgan supporters went absolutely ballistic and England were 57/6 in deep trouble. Very colorful fans all dressed up in traditional dress.......about 32 degrees1 But yes an extremely good player. Miracle we won that game.

Re: IPL 2017
What a terrible start. My players are either being rubbish (like Watson), not playing (like Smith who's my power player today) or a bit of both (like Gayle).

Re: IPL 2017
Personally I can see Roy not getting many games now that the Lions have reverted back to the previously successful opening pairing of Smith & McCullum, which would be a shame as he's done ok so far but the team did look more balanced without him.
Woakes place looks under threat aswell now that Al-Hasan & Yadav are back... & Buttler should be coming in down the order imo.
How do you think the England boys have faired so far?

Re: IPL 2017
Yes agree, think they have been very average, agree about Woakes he has to do something big this morning. Stokes can't seem to bat and bowl well in the same match, given up picking him. Buttler been a bit unlucky two poor decisions. Roy I think you are right especially after yesterday. Morgan....well easy life. And Sam Billings 24 and 25 not good enough, will he play this afternoon? Mills well can't believe they paid that much for him, the misfield last game did not go down well. So not a great exercise so far, and with big squads they can easily disappear never to be seen again.

Re: IPL 2017
They all look a bit tentative in their approach, which is quite contrasting to the way they play for England, maybe the whole spectacle & inexperience is getting to them a bit? As you say, there's plenty of competition for places & they really needed to hit the ground running.
