With the top of the Leaderboard getting crowded, we are back into action this weekend.

Rio Ave 1-2 Braga tonight ... but none of the leading managers dabbled.

The rest of the month is busy, with UEFA and CL games adding to national league games.

Interesting to see the early leader has used up 5 October transfers already - surely a dangerous tactic with the opportunities in the next fortnight?

Expect the leaderboard to suffer a big shake up by the end of the month...

The league has been updated and of course there is lots of movement ahead of the Champions League fixtures this week. Movement throughout as always with the league.

Finally, Strasbourg pays back some of my faith!

3 UEFA teams tonight and they all recorded away wins - a rare positive in my disaster of an October (should have known after winning Sept MOTM).

And Lens lost, which was nice.

I wonder what our leader will do with his 6 transfers.....a chance to pull away from the crowd perhaps?

3 UEFA Wins // Half decent weekend of results & 3 transfers remaining.

I don't think I've done massively well, but I should have jumped a few places.

Must remember: It's a marathon not a sprint... still plenty of time.

Sorry for the delay in the league update this week but now all the scores are in including the full UEFA cup updates.

As always there is plenty of movement although we are aware that there is a problem with the way the league is showing itself further down. This is not helped by all the people who have entered teams and then they have to be deleted becuase they haven't paid. This will also be rectified.

The manager of the month is tight with just one weekend of fixtures to go before more money is given out.

Similar story - those 3 away UEFA wins were a godsend after an awful October. Finally I am not the worst October manager in the top 20!

Final games of the month should be interesting, with the leader having 3 transfers in hand...

Dear Football Fantastic User,

Ian Buckley :D has picked up £50 following a 60 point lead in the motm table.
November starts today with full Champions League fixtures to whet your appetite.

Football Fantastic, it would be nice if you showed the end monthly table for a day or two at least, instead of whipping it straight off and replacing it with a blank next month one.
Just a suggestion

I concur! Although I got at least 24 hours of glory from memory.

Great month - well done.

The mini league scores (not sure if this affects you) look a bit odd (especially for the Portuguese lot) - FootballFantastic, any ideas?

Manager of the Month

Post by footballfantastic »

Thanks for your comments - as always - much appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is feasible cause the manager of the month table is generated via the date, therefore when the date rolls over to November, all October scores are removed.

The technical brains (Norfy) will undoubtably have an opinion on this or a technical view.

Anyway, sorry I'm unable to supply an answer at this stage. The league has been updated following the Champs League.

You're not wrong - and it has been a while since so many teams were within shouting distance of the leader.

I sense January will be a defining month, as a lot of managers have so many Premiership teams at the moment and need to start achieving a better balance...

Have to agree with you Raoul - whilst I'm slightly off the pace this is really building up into an exciting competition, and tactics are going to be everything over the next couple of months.
Have e-mailed Football Fantastic with a query on the points for this week - Blackburn have been given 0 points instead of 14 as they won on Monday evening, and FF have confirmed that points will be amended in the update on Sunday.
At least FISO should win the Mini-League although it does seem one or two teams have been left to drift.

Good luck for rest of season

Tom

Am not convinced Blackburn was the only error - I had calculated points manually before the update (how sad am I  ) and a couple of others looked to be 10 points out - but I cannot remember which ones now!

After the Auxerre result last night, I reckon there is a new leader, with no fewer than 5 teams within 5 points of each other at the top!

Amazingly close - should be a fun second half of the season, and good to see so many still in with a chance - should keep the interest level up!

Roma error?

Post by raoul »

Did Roma not beat Milan 1-0 tonight?

I was given 19 pts, suggesting a 0-0 draw has been recorded...

Since 8 of the top 10 managers have them, it does not make a huge difference - but the extra 19 pts would still be nice

Updates

Post by footballfantastic »

Raoul,

The French games have all been added.

Under normal circumstances, the league is updated on a Wednesday and Sunday night however I was unable to do the update last Wednesday and thus the league was updated on Sunday.

As for the Roma Milan game, this game started late at night along with about 4 other games and as per the e-mail, these will be updated. We have decided to update the league at around 9 o clock on a Sunday night and thus some games will not have finished. This is to ensure I don't upset the wife too much!!

FISO Wins!!!!

Post by raoul »

:D

FISO again wins the superleague title of Football Fantastic.

OK, it was a foregone conclusion months ago, but well done to everyone who contributed to the success, not least Canary for setting the whole lot up.

Oh - did I mention I came top in the Superleague? The closest I can eveer claim to having won a season long competition, so I hope you forgive me for mentioning it.

4th overall ... just 1 place away from £250. Oh well, here's to next year!

Thanks Paul and thanks for all your help and support this year.

We will probably start working on next fairly soon because becuaseof the game format, we know who will be playing. The trouble is with the Italians who has a Serie B play off which last year was really late in August I think. What we'll probably do is set up the game without the Italians cause they are playing anyway and then add them in once the teams have been decided.

We will almost certainly run it again nect year but may have to tailor the prize money so that we don't lose any money any more. A hobby can only be so for so long!!

Cheers and we'll let everyone know (and post on FISO) when we are ready to go.

Cheers

Jim
