its not quite that simple, some managers have managed unlimited transfers in the pundits, footyaccums, ladbible leagues (mainly the ones now leading them), yet others can only make 3 (if i try making any more in them it says no transfers left)....

This is my point. It's not like we're just misinterpreting the rules, there seems to be an inherit problem with the programming of the site.

Spot on and well said. I think it's fair to say that everybody understands the rules a this point, the only problem as Merlins_Apprentice rightly said is that some managers are able and have made unlimited transfers in the pundits, footyaccums, ladbible leagues (and are now leading) while others like myself can only make a maximum of three in those league.

Once that gets fixed (and i don't know how you would go about doing that to ensure a level playing field considering that the ones leading are managers who are able to make unlimited transfers) then i guess it's problem solved. Easy.

On a side note again Leon has done a great job to the best of his ability, a lot of the problems experienced by by us managers came from the how to play section/rules and had nothing to do with him. He actually tried to rectify various different issues to ensure we had a decent game on our hands, it's obvious that his superiors/game and rule designers made costly errors so lets not 'shoot the messenger' and actually be thankful for his great effort the last few days, despite understandable frustrations.

You do wonder how all this will get resolved.

It would appear that some of the last minute changes that have been made to the game (Captain Tokens, Transfer Deadlines etc) have overwritten some of the validation in place and left the game open to abuse.

I do hope we get a satisfactory response before kick off today but with it being the weekend (so we can't even phone the helpdesk) I do fear the worst...

I tried to make a load of transfers today and it wont let me (i havent tried just making 3)...

Looking through the tables though, some of those who made loads yesterday have only made 3 today so perhaps the loophole is fixed and it is just 3 now (and they are stuck with a full 11 from yesterday to change out somehow)...hope thats the case....game on!

Good afternoon all.

So, anyone who's still struggling, please pass me your contact details so that I can call you and discuss.

We've made all the relevant fixes now, however, I personally don't have the time to sit on Fiso all day, every day, explaining the fixes and fighting losing battles with certain individuals.

If anyone wants clarification, pass me your details.

Thank you.

Leon.

Can we still make transfers between games?

I don't know whether to risk waiting for team news from the later games only to find the rules have changed back again :?

I'd appreciate it if someone could contact Leon (ive probably peed him off lol) and answer the following questions...

1. In the sub leagues is it now just 3 transfers per day? like it was for some of us yesterday or has it reverted back to what the league says and is unlimited
2. In the sub leagues (pundits etc) will we be able to make changes between games (Doesn't look like anyone could yesterday))
3. In any league if you make 1 transfer before the first set of games, make him captain, then in the next set transfer that player out and put a new player in, effectively making him captain, will you get double points for that player also? ...or will the software only give you double points for the first captain of the day you pick at the first deadline regardless of making other players captain with transfers

Hi everyone,

First of all, let me clarify what's what with each group of leagues:

World Cup League, LadBible, FFPundits, FootyAccums:

These FREE to enter, public featured leagues are all governed by the same transfer policy - 3 transfer per day with one captaincy selection, both to be confirmed and saved 15 minutes prior to the FIRST GAME of the day, as per the rules stated on the website. So, usually that'll be a 4:45pm deadline with a 5pm kick off.

Now, regarding these leagues, apart from the World Cup League, what happened was a few members of the above leagues somehow had 'no limit' status set to their account when joining, whilst the mass majority where limited to the correct daily amount of 3. We have identified why this happened and have fixed the bug accordingly as of 5pm yesterday (Friday). The few teams that where able to make extra changes will be contacted accordingly by us and the relevant action will be taken. Further details of this will be announced when resolved.

I must now stress that we have tested and audited this fault and can safely say that all teams entered in to any of the free public leagues (World Cup, LadBible, FFPundits, FootyAccums) are all set to a maximum of 3 transfer per team and one captaincy change.

So, to reiterate, your daily transfers must be made before the daily cut off as you already know, which will be 15 minutes before the first game of the day, and the transfer market will reopen again after the last match of the day.

Please also note that the 2am game between Japan and Ivory Coast shouldn't worry anyone and we wont be asking you to log in to make your daily changes between midnight and 1:45am - Instead, we will reopen the transfer market tomorrow (Sunday) morning for you all to make your 3 daily transfers as per usual.

The Grand League

The Grand League is a £10 entry league with unlimited transfers, meaning you can wait for a fixture to end, and then add players from the following fixtures to your team on an unlimited bases.

This rule has always been there for this league and has always had a transfer status of 'no limit' - Whilst this is a new game and people are not clear on where information is or how everything works, we can only apologise for not making this clearer to those who didn't understand the rules from the start.

If you've paid to join this league and would prefer a refund, then please use the 'contact us' tab on our homepage and we'll be more than happy to issue you a full refund.

Please be assured though that the £1000.000 is still GUARANTEED, regardless of the amount of entrants.

We never changed the rules, we simply couldn't fix the system in time to match that of the rules in which you all signed up to, so, personally, I can only apologise unreservedly for the bad timing of these errors and I hope that you can continue to enjoy the game and battle for the prizes.

A few people have mentioned that they doubt the prizes, well, we have absolutely no reason to advertise a prize if we're not going to honour it so, not much more I can do to convince those individuals otherwise.

I hope that this has covered all of your concerns and has put many minds to rest - I know it has mine.

You now have just over one hour to make your 3 transfers for today's fixtures so, I shall leave you all be and let you get on.

Again, my unreserved apologies for the last 24 hours and I hope we can continue to chat with you guys here in a friendly manner whilst enjoying the game and the football.

Kind regards,

Leon - FootballFanager.com

Great stuff Leon I think everyone appreciates the time you've taken to answer our questions.

Just one answer I've yet to find.

In the Grand League, are captain changes per day unlimited? I.e today could I captain a Greek for the first game, then a Uruguayan for the second game, etc...

Currently in fourth position so would quite like to get this cleared up

Thanks for coming on & adding some greater clarity Leon.

Just to clarify things from my perspective, my query around the pot split for The Grand League was not questioning your commitment to paying out come the end of the tourney, it was simply around the division of the £1k. In other words, is it a straight grand for the winner, or will the cash be spilt between the top 3 etc. The reason I ask is purely down to tactical planning for later on in the comp.

Perhaps I should have given myself more time but i thought 25 minutes to do transfers in 7 teams was enough.

I managed to do 2 teams by the deadline.

Very very frustrating, i was changing the formation from 442 to 443, and although the transfers i was doing were legitimate, the stupid software kept booting my out telling my transfers didn't match my formation which was of course absolute tosh.

Example I'm 442 with Vidal in midfield Sanchez & Vargas up front. Change the formation to 433.
If it removes Vidal, I remove the other 2 chileans add in 3 strikers from Colombia & Uruguay confirm the change and more often than not it boots me back to the start, though occasionaly doing exactly the same thing manages to get through OK.
If it removes another random midfielder, I remove all 3 chilleans, add all 3 strikers, un-transfer the random midfielder, and hey-ho same result. Usually I get booted out, but occasionaly the same process gets approved.

By contrast after the deadline finished for fanager, I was able to go through all 9 teams in the telegraph in 5 minutes.

Leon, I think you are an excellent representative and been very helpful and i dare so it's only because of you that most of us have persisted, and the website itself has a good feel to it.
However to me it feels as though the whole thing has been rushed, with too much ambiguity, a lack of clarity and too many bugs.
An example being the phrase you are allowed 3 transfers per day. Well what the hell does a Day mean? We now know that it means. From when the transfer window reopens after the final game of a day, until 15 minutes before the first game of the following day (except when it isn't). We only know that because of your communication NOT from the website where it should have been made clear.

Many thanks for the kind words in the previous post.

We have identified what went wrong and will resolve this - I understand many of you are frustrated but and angry at me/footballfanager but, I am personally doing everything I can to make sure that the tech faults never occur again.

Silly errors caused by silly errors; disappointed.

Please also note that ALL paid members to the Fiver and Grand League will receive a full free refund BUT will also be allowed to continue playing the game for the full £1000 and £500 prize still, for free. We will notify the league entrants on Monday to confirm this and inform them of the update.

I'll be back on Monday with any further updates.

Have a good weekend.

Not read much of the thread but am aware that there are issues and that "Football Fanager" is doing his best to work as an intermediary between those playing the game and those running the game to clarify and sort out the problems.

Forum rules are in place = don't shoot the messenger!

(I'll separate the discussions regarding the issues to a new thread when I get the chance, probably tomorrow)

Hi forever England, the Grand League will also now comply with the same cut-off rules as the 3-per-day transfer cut offs. We haven't forgotten about it and will be giving all league members a full refund and free play for that league.

Many thanks,

Leon.

Hi all!

Did anyone else not receive double points for their captains yesterday?

If so, and in the event that you've had it sorted, were your points just added on afterwards?

Cheers, Jim.

Cracking World Cup so far btw. Long may it continue.

Frustration piled upon frustration. Though this time not about the site but about my selections.
Great use of transfers across the board yesterday transferring in Higuain & Giroud :!:

A note for anyone trying to do formation changes. If you split the change as a 1 for 1 to accommodate the formation change then do the other 2 transfers separately, then you can usually get it to work first time. Slightly annoying, as it takes a little longer, but better than banging your head against a wall trying to do all 3.

Not that I'm bothered about the grand league now, but I couldn't do any transfers yesterday. Every time it said I couldn't afford the transfer, even when I was doing a straight 1 for 1 and downgrading the player going out. E.G. Sanchez (CHI) Giroud (FRA). The exact same change was accepted in every other team.

EXACTLY THE SAME happened to me when i was trying to make changes in my grand league team! Contacted them but obviously it was a sunday so i wasn't expecting a reply. Extremely dissapointed. That was the last straw for me. Think i'm done with this game. One too many bugs

Disappointing to read those comments as I thought everything was finally running smoothly. I used the formation change for the first time yesterday made three changes in one go, and it worked perfectly :?

Jim, As far as I know my captain points have all been added correctly but there was so much other stuff to worry about I'm not sure I'd have noticed.
