The clue is in binkys manager name
Like I said, there is no rivalry. We're miles in front...

Re: Football Fanager
How many miles in front does 8 points equate to, I moved up to 2nd after the group F matches this afternoon. I tried to make a couple of last minute transfers one I made in time and the other I didn't, which was lucky as I nearly transferred out Dzeko for Giroud.
Surprising how quickly things can change in this game, I had a shockingly bad day yesterday and thought I had no chance of catching the leading teams after yesterday, considered Jackson Martinez but didn't select him and backed the Ivory Coast.

Re: Football Fanager
The supposed rivalry that FE mentioned wasn't solely about this game pal, or at least I wasn't referring to just this one. Binky, afaik, is the only FF member in this league simply because he is a greeeeedy c**t. He will win it mind so fair dues...
Still, fantastic work from you nbbbee10. Keep it up.
IMO though, it's wasted on this shambles of a game.

If Binky keeps captaining players like Shaquiri who go on to bag a hat-trick, he's got a bloody good chance!Giggs11 wrote:He will win it mind so fair dues...
That said, there's still loads of time to go and I reckon a FISO member will topple him in the end.

Is there a way to tell whom another player has captained? I can only seem to find out if I visit the site on my phone.

Re: Football Fanager
From what I can make out, unless the manager physically makes a captain change (as opposed to replacing him with another player then selecting the new player as captain) there is no way to see captain choice other than on mobile devices - hopefully future incarnations of the game will show this on the desktop versions too.chandler wrote:Is there a way to tell whom another player has captained? Notice you are only a few points behind Binky now chandler, keep it going and maybe a FISO'er can wrestle the title off him!

Right ok thanks.
FE - you're only a few points behind me! It certainly makes it harder how you can see everyone else's team before KO if you're trying to catch somebody down

Just a warning that the budget problems mentioned earlier haven't been fully solved.
I tried to make a few changes to my team (involving changing from 352 to 433) but ended up with a budget of 223 instead of the 250 you're meant to have

A quite remarkable contrast, arguably the best World Cup ever alongside arguably the worst run fantasy World Cup game ever.

Yeah, shame as it was almost pretty good.
I thought it was difficult getting Messi in, just realised one of my teams still has a budget of only 200. Although another one has 257 available

I "sold" one player and was shown to have £220 million cash, so I aborted the sale, and started again and that time everything was OK.Art Vandelay wrote:Yeah, shame as it was almost pretty good.

Re: Football Fanager
Well 16 points is nothing really. You could just be given that out the blue for no reason Thought I was too far back so had to take a mad gamble and went for a Colombia block. Obviously that went quite badly but I didn't lose any ground at all Should just have gone with Germans like I did in my other teams
Sent them an email about my reduced budget and they increased it to where it should be. The game itself might be a right shambles but, to be fair, their customer service is very good.

Re: Football Fanager
Absolute joke yet again. Left it until the last 5 minutes to make my changes (my fault in trying to leave it to the last minute to see my opponents move) Made my transfers when changing formation only to be told my players are in incorrect positions. They weren't and I couldn't make my changes. THE WORST fantasy game of all time. Just aswell I was only 20 something and not in the top 5 playing with a good chance of winning a lot of money.
Fuming.

Re: Football Fanager
Yeah, that function doesn't really work. It's best to only make the transfers you need to in order to change formation first, submit them, then make any additional ones. Obviously not always easy because of the budget but it seems to be the only way it'll always work properly.
I had quite a few problems too. Ended up with twelve men at one point, one extra grey shirt player from no particular team. Then ended up with the captain's armband just floating about not attached to any player. Got it sorted eventually but no way is 5 minutes enough. Got to allow half an hour really...
From a user's point of view the whole formation screen is utterly pointless. Why can't I just transfer in and out whoever I like and the team just take on the new formation automatically?

There certainly are issues around the formation aspect - it seems to also have been behind the budget issues earlier in the comp too - why 3-4-3 isn't an option also irritates me, especially with the wierd pricing structure. Like Art said, there simply isn't a need for the 'Formation' screen at all.
That said it's been the same since day 1, so I am surprised you left it all so late Herc - surely you didn't expect it all to be plain sailing come the business end!
