This is the guy I was referring to.

As much as I agree with your logic FE (and I made the same assumption that they had used brazilian timings to avoid this confusion) on this evidence I dont think I have a captain today. :(

Hmmm - I see what you mean ralphy - the guy definitely picked up 2 sets of double points as he had both Cuadrado & Honda.

Don't get me wrong, of course in UK time the game kicked off on the 15th, but whole site is set up to run on Brasilian time. Not even sure how an automated system could get that wrong to be honest?

I think the rules are pretty clear that the cut off is midnight and on this basis that the first game on Sunday is/was the CIV vs Japan game.

A lot of the people have set up their teams on that basis and I think that is what will be (correctly) applied by SM.

This is a SilentManager game my friend, the rules are never 'pretty clear' - take a look at their 'Matches' page if you don't believe me! :-)

Just spotted the league in 2nd place & thought I'd best come and join - forgetting that I'd asked the question here in the first place!
Hopefully I'll maybe bump us into 1st place in the league of leagues over the (suspicioulsy multi entrant looking) league in first place.
thansk for setting the league up Art.

fingers crossed right now for a bosnian goal ( for me anyway)

Looks like they have removed the captain point he picked up from Honda, and awarded him double points for the captain he appointed later in the day (Messi) - the same looks to have been applied across the board (and indeed on the Red Spotted Hanky game more importantly  )

I am sensing they had quite a few queries/complaints about the captaincy situation yesterday/this morning. From my perspective the IVC v JAP game kicked off on Sunday AM UK time, but Saturday PM Brazilian time. The fact that the matches (and site on a whole) runs on Brazilian time would infer that the correct decision has been taken in the end. It's just a shame that no-one at their end had the foresight to read through the fixtures beforehand and clear up the ambiguous (and indeed unique) nature of the Ivory Coast v Japan game in their rules.

Nontheless... I presume everyone is happy with the outcome.... GAME ON!

although that was entirely down to luck

Ha - not sure how you make transfers using luck - think you're putting yourself down somewhat there Art!

I figure most had Honda, Messi or Benzena as captain and there was little between the three. Most happy would be anyone who opted with Bony I guess!

I meant making them before the 2am kick off was just luck. My changes themselves are, of course, entirely down to skill.

Note that several of the teams in the redspottedhandy weekly leaderboard are identical - looks as though someone is making a determined effort to win the weekly prize - these teams;

Speedster
Jewsters
Leon City
Howe wow
Oho

..all with the same players, and benzema captained this evening (so I was very pleased to see him miss the penalty, and not to have the last goal count). Worth keeping an eye on. A couple of them are in the overall top 20 as well. (as some have slightly differing points, would guess they started differently but have converged). They aren't "obvious" choices either.

Due to the benzema points yesterday, these teams have now taken the top positions on the weekly board.

Not what I expected - all the teams have made an identical transfer and captain change .. but not to messi (despite having enough budget), instead to muller. Anyone recognise any of the team names from other competitions?

Never seen any of these names before. Have you dropped SM a message?

That said I doubt it will do any good. They've had multi entrants in the golf games before but seem happy to accept that mum, dad, son, daughter and pet dog all think alike & make changes at exactly the same time, and use the excuse that they all have different email addresses! :-(

Depends more on the promoter rather than sm from experience - remember the metro game back in '08? The "winning" superleague, and about 4 out of the top ten overall teams were disqualified, think that was pressure from metro. Anyway, they/he/she hasn't won yet - and less likely too if muller doesn't score in this coming half (famous last words).

Wow - was that back in '08! How time flies!

I'd be surprised if RSH would challenge anything as its more of a short term PR thingy for them, so I doubt they could be bothered with the hassle tbh.

Hopefully they won't win anyway, but it still is irritating. I am currently querying the Marcelo points (his points are not being added to my team - still shows him as playing 0 games!) but may drop them a line on this matter once that is resolved.

The fact you don't have to register an address for most SM games doesn't help. You could enter 20 teams under different names and emails, then one wins a prize and they email you to get your address. Nobody ever knows about your other 19 teams. Obviously more trouble than it's worth over a season, or even a month, but over 4 or 5 days?

The transfer allocation is a bit off for this game isn't? There's 12 to cover the first 48 matches then 27 transfers for the final 16 games :?

Should help the guy in 8th - he apparently has Cuadrado in midfield and defence!!!!

Bizarre; that's the same guy - or at least same team name "goals galore" - as referred to at the top of this page by ralphypne (unless the page has changed again), though in a different game (crown as opposed to the redspottedhanky one ). Re earlier matters - not sure if the supposed multi-entrants mentioned earlier in the thread got a weekly win, as the league tables disappear as soon as a new week starts, most annoying; has been mentioned before to sm, but with no change as yet. Also no way of seeing previous weekly/period tables, in any of their games.

They do have a 'previous' option in their table dropdown, but guess what.... it's just blank!

Hope they didn't win - really get fed up with those who break the rules getting away with it. :-(
