Week 5
Not sure whats been going on in the Bell household, but they've both had storming weekend's;
Mrs Bell easily beating Rainycats feeble 33 and Dr Bell destroying Miles T's pathetic offering.

Also scoring big was league leader T Kovacs. He remains at the top thanks to victory over mid table KK.

Elsewhere Andi Jones continues his crisis of confidence and remains pointless after getting turned over by transferless Qadesh.

Despite the current problems with his beloved Geordie boys, The Ton can take some solace after edging a tight and entertaining encounter against Karrde.

I'll tell you whats going on in the Bell household - Im going nuts...

Im some way behind the missus in a mini league at work (with the same teams as in La Log league) and for December so far Im 2nd out of around 100 teams - surely a chance to catch up some points on her (and some pride) you'd think - the missus is flippin first. and its not even like the points have come from the same players - her Friedel, JCole and LEscoot Vs my Bentley and Torres)

Sorry - Im in a bad mood today - Grimsby lost 4-0 last night too and look like going into the Conference - its not been a good football year so far...

All together now... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Week 6
The top 2 both win again and Mrs Bell's increased goal difference propels her into top spot above Takeshi. Her understudy (Dr Bell) is beaten by 4th placed Ton and he gets leapfrogged.

Karrde wins his second game of the campaign and jumps to midtable.

Poor Andi Jones suffers yet another defeat maintaining his 0% record. Thank the lord his spreadsheets are better than his management skills!

That's not nice, especially at this time of year. I'm quiet happy with 13pts for a GLK, 2 DEF, & 2 MID, everyone else was out injured

There's still another 12 oppurtunities for me to pick up some points. At least the Winter Break is after the next round of games, giving my team until February to recover.

Whats the big deal ?
I HAD to transfer out Bellamy and Hannehman , which gave me a measly 4.5 million to play with , and I wanted to transfer out Arteta who's form has dipped of late.

So I got Green - 3rd highest goalie (yes i could have gone for Almunia, but wont everybody?)
And I got Kitson - -the best value cheapie striker (19pts more than Ashton)
And Jenas - current form looks pretty hot. Gets a goal here and there.

I dont mind having a go with some oddballs as its not a team I'm spending real dosh on. eff me, I've lost about 5 or 6 games out of 7 so far, anythings worth trying.

Hmmmm...forgot we had to pm them. I did however pay/waste the princely sum of £1.50 to the Sun to make transfers to this team forgetting it wouldn't be automatically updated with you zim as it is the same team as I've got in FISO Battle League.
I would prove it but am too embarrassed to cut and paste it on this thread...however if you want me to pm it to you I will... but if not my own fault and I accept the r&r.

Tough league we have going on here. 6 wins out of 8 to only be third. Gonna be a good old scrap for promotion. Remind me again, how many go up and down??

I suppose it depends on how many want to play again!

Suppose one scenario would be one or two large leagues playing throughout the whole season (with promotion/relegation at the end).

Or (to keep people interested) a similar format as this... leagues of 10 teams. We'd probably get "three seasons" out of the real one.

We'll see in the summer. Bearing in mind almost half of us didnt bother making any transfers, I suspect people have already lost interest in this game (although we might not have been helped by the "winter break").

I have not lost interest. I think most put 'experimental' teams into this, and some have flopped quite badly. I mean, my team is effin rubbish, but im still beating people in my group, because there teams are effin rubbish as well!!

having 3 seasons within a season is the way to go for sure. Having to motivate yourself to take an interest when youre nowhere after 8 weeks and still have 30 to go will be hard.

Having smaller seasons and a shorter run to climb the leagues works an absolute treat on the Lucky 7s game (which incidentally i cant recommend highly enough to you all) and will on this too.

hmm ,

yeah , anyway , I knock about the forum most days , so I haven't lost interest , but I agree the multi seasons per season format would encourage involvement
