Daily Record Jan motm

Post by Rich »

Not normally a lot of interest in this one as not many of us have been involved previously. A turnaround this month with quite a few fiso teams in there with just one set of matches to go.

Jan Leaderboard

Position Team Manager Score
1 Edward Quinn XI Edward Quinn 149
2 Kelvin Keith Clarke 148
3 WhatAreYouDoing NY Eve Rick 146

My team in 3rd is as follows:

Player XI Sub G KC CS GC YC RC MotM Score
B Friedel 11 0 0 1 4 16 0 0 1 30
L Neill 1 0 0 0 0 2 1 0 0 -1

K Boyd 5 0 4 1 0 0 0 0 0 28
N Novo 7 2 2 4 0 0 3 0 0 29

Wish I could have picked a better transfer for Smith than Neil  , although to be fair he was the only Blackburn defender available in the game and I thought he would go to Liverpool not West Ham, , couldnt afford Taylor. I should know if I have any chance or not after this weekends SPL games.

I know some of the fiso teams up there are seasonal teams so I wouldnt expect anyone to list them, but anyone else want to reveal their line-ups?

as usual fiso team in bold, let me know if I have missed anyone.

Quite different teams, Adam & Nakamura apart (who I would expect to be in most up there this month). Good luck all.

Hi Rich

My team in second is

Boruc
Hemdani
Svensson
Hutton
Smith
Adam
Lappin
Benayoun
McGeady
Boyd
Henry

so we have 5 players in common and I will have at least two non-players this week.

Cheers

Keith

The Considine double could have put a spanner in the works, 21pts at least today, with a good possibility of a further 5pts for motm. Another one of my December motm teams was lying in 25th with 135 pts is now looking my best chance now on 168, although my other one is 167, good chance I would have thought of some others on the leaderboard having him as well.

Christmas Crackers:

Player XI Sub G KC CS GC YC RC MotM Score
D James 2 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 2
A Considine 6 2 0 0 2 7 1 0 0 12
M Hart 7 0 0 0 1 7 0 1 0 7
K Toure 9 0 1 2 4 7 1 0 2 44
M Taylor 2 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 2
F Lampard 9 0 3 4 3 0 1 0 0 46
I Sproule 3 2 1 0 1 0 0 1 1 16
S Sidwell 10 0 0 4 3 0 1 0 1 34
T Henry 3 0 3 4 0 0 0 0 1 29
K Boyd 2 0 2 1 0 0 0 0 0 14
K Doyle 9 0 3 1 0 0 0 0 0 32

No MOTM for Considine. :x .

Scores the only two goals of the game(and hes a defender) and keeps a clean sheet. What the hell does he have to do?

I hope it doesnt cost me the MOTM. :( .

Looking good for you Richard despite no motm for Consintine, I was disspointed too, but looks like it would have done me good anyway looking at your domination.

Any chance of mine sneaking through ? (maybe a Portsmouth clean sheet ?). Good luck, hopefully a fiso'ite will win it.

If you've got james and Taylor and maybe one or two other different choices to me then maybe a Pompey clean sheet could do it.

Shouldn't really give too much away as some of my top teams are not totally out of contention overall but the one thing that i'll be worried about on Wednesday is Rooney getting a few goals and MOTM against Watford(which could happen), as i dont have him in any of my top 4 monthly teams.

That team is listed a few posts up, so James, Taylor, Lamps & Sidewell. Looking good for you, hope you can hang on (unless I catch you  ).

Let's hope Larsson & Saha can do all the damage against Watford. I guess you will be hoping for no clean sheets anywhere too  .

well theres your Pompey clean sheet Rich.

i don't think its going to quite enough but stranger things have happened. A MOTM for James might make a big difference.

Mr Sime seems to have a few teams up there so he could be dangerous and the Allez Rangers team might be(i'm just hoping because of its name that its full of rangers players).

Unfortunately its far from over as a Rooney barrage at Watford is far from out of the question and a random defender bagging a couple of goals would alos ruin my chances.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow night.

Thought I needed something from Sidewell last night, I'm guessing you have Lampard covered, so i'm presuming i'm out of the running now. At least no clean sheet for Liverpool had to be a good thing. Good luck Richard. :)

Tantalisingly close, but with only Lampard left the top team looks almost certain to be overturned tonight :( Stupid month, why can't it only have 30 days like April or June  I probably need some sending's off , which reffs are on duty tonight :) .

Didn't know I was in contention for this, but of course I'm not now! Needed 'Pool CS + Gerrard but it came to nowt. Good luck you guys. Btw Considine conceded a penalty I think, but still probably deserved MOM. :D

Looks like I've finished on 194 (or 198 if FL gets motm), but far too many of the usual suspects scored big points today for me to have any hope of holding on. Good luck Richard hope you clinch it. :)

Congrats oldbigead, you walked it in the end. Good movement up the overall league too, not bad for someone who forgot the last transfer window :) Now in the words of your team in 9th ......:)

Cheers mate, much appreciated.

I was a bit worried when i saw Rooney had got MOTM but all's well that ends well. It just goes to show that planning for MOTM doesn't always help as none of my top monthly teams had that in mind.

It was also lucky as i only got to do my transfers at the last minute and didn't get to do all my teams in time.

Anyway i just hope that i can continue to move up the overall leaderboard as well. It's amazing what a bizarre game this has been this season, everyones teams must have been decimated at some point in the season i've had half my teams missing for virtually two of the entire transfer windows, infact if this game had been the same rules as YTM i'd have used all my transfers by now.

Fingers crossed for the rest of the season its much more fun when you feel like you're actually in contention.
