Premier League Starting XI's

Post by KneesUpMotherBrown »

I know there are the "General Chat and Starting X1 Threads" but I think it would be useful for everyone if there was a quick reference thread with predicted starting XI's, as many people are going to be selecting teams at the moment and no-one wants to have to make transfers as soon as the first round of games are over.

I'll base them on the "General Chat and Starting X1 Threads" and reliable websites like fantasyfootballscout.
I will try and keep this updated until Friday evening so if anyone disagrees with the starting X1's that I have put down just because I am wrong or if there has been new developments (injuries or new signing's etc) that would affect the starting X1's then if you could post it so I can update the thread.

With people like Coloccini who have got a knock but may or may not start I will put them in until I hear otherwise that they are a certainty to miss the first game of the season.

OK idea for a thread but there are so many doubts that they may be best discussed in club threads. Hope nobody is stupid enough to take anybody's team guesses as gospel......

The Grauniad's guesses are often as good as anybody's week to week (not got this week's up yet):

Not saying it should be a gospel but you have got to have somewhere to start from when picking players.
I'm hoping that I can get them as close to possible to the starting X1's by friday evening and hopefully with the help of other people on FISO.

Srry the 'gospel' dig wasn't aimed at you or your thread but aimed at those will will be whining on Monday "but they said on FISO he was going to play and now my season is RUINED"

Good luck - for what it is worth the one on the Liverpool thread is as good as you'll get.

Koscielny's pulled out of France's friendly tomorrow night with a calf strain. Hopefully it is just to get him out of international duty (like Hart's back problem), but you never know!

Walcott (and Ox) out of the England squad too. I think these friendlies are only timetabled to wind up FF managers.....

Premier League Starting XI's

For Villa, Warnock is by no means a cert. Expect Lichaj to start at LB, and it'll be either Bannan or Delph in the middle instead of Herd.

Such bad timing! Especially with players travelling to the other side of the world. Don't think Physioroom takes into account Jetlag!
I'm going to leave Walcott in for now as I think it's probably just a precaution.

Right they are all down (bar Southampton-have no idea and am tired so will sort out tomorrow)
There are probably quite a few errors (spelling and player) but I just wanted to get something down as I've been out all afternoon/evening.
If anyone can tell me the bits I've done wrong I'll amend them and if not I will when I double check the errors I have made tomorrow morning.

Useful article from the BBC on a club-by-club basis showing players in and out and prospects etc. No starting XIs(!) but a good complement to the info on this thread.

Thanks murf, no-one seems to be posting other than you! Either because the starting XI's i've posted are a load of crap or they are good so there is nothing to add or just because they can't be arsed! :D

They'll just post on Monday to complain you got them wrong

I'm only an 'expert' on Liverpool and you've got that (easy) XI right.

Did the sheep scare you off?
I'm sure no one will moan if you get any wrong as it's inevitable as much as some seem to like moaning.
I guess the international friendlies may add some more information.
Kagawa just played 90 minutes in the friendly in Japan against Venuzuela.
Van Der Vaart,Krul,Vorm,Heitinga and Van Persie in the Holland squad tonight against Belgium.
Russia in Capello's first game play Ivory Coast tonight.Arshavin in squad.Yaya and Kolo Toure plus Tiote in IC squad.
Luiz, Ramires and Oscar>Brazil in Sweden.
Evra, Clichy and Giroud included in France squad.
Reina,Cazorla,Silva and Torres in Spain squad in Puerto Rico.
Aguero and Coloccini playing in Germany.

 Have put them back up but just wasn't sure if anyone was actually going to use them! Is so difficult to predict with all the friendlies.
Was there friendlies like this last year? I guess if there were I could have a look and see which players played and whether they played in the first game of the season. I imagine the ones playing in Europe should play this weekend but the Spaniards I guess is the big question mark as the flight to Puerto Rico is about 14 hours!

If someone just misses (or might miss) the first game because of being tired after a friendly then it is no big deal really across a season IMO. The friendlyitis-or-maybe-not cases like Joe Hart concern me more.

More important we get the "early season" Starting XI than the Day 1 one.

Thanks LuckyPete65 for summarizing them up in one topic, and yeah, I think it's useful. Won't blame you or others if something is wrong, it is what it is, can be a sudden injury for any player, or a change of mind for manager about starting lineup anyway, so I don't see that someone should blame you if something's wrong. This is good to see and compare with my own thoughts about who will start, and who to pick.
Anyway, I feel like first gw's for me will be not that good, as my tactics in picking players usually rely on team performance, so as I haven't seen some teams yet, it's hard to choose. Especially with all the new players like Snodgrass, Michu, Cazorla etc etc, which you think could be really good(or everyone says they will be), but you don't know if they will be good fantasy points wise, or will just show masterclass on the pitch, directing the game etc .

They play them every year.
Last season.
Ramires played in Germany then started on the Sunday.
Torres got injured in Italy then recovered and started first game.
Silva started same game plus Yaya Toure played in Ivory Coast and both started on the ManC Monday game.

So the two questions - how will MU lineup look with Van Persie (assuming he will be in the first 11) - who loses a place there, and Arsenal without Van Persie (who comes on in his place)?

Absolutely no idea re Man U so have for now put that Rooney slots in where Kagawa was and RVP where Rooney was. Re Arsenal I think Giroud has to be there for now but I wonder whether Arsene will sign another striker now.

Regarding Spain- Reina, Cazorla and Torres start tonight but Silva not starting.

I'm hearing Arsenal are thinking to make a move for Lloriente, don't know how much of it is actually true, as I don't have a reliable source (only which I could rely on is a transfer agent in twitter, who said MU will buy RVP today, and also about Sahin joining Liverpool
