433 to make a comeback!!

Post by Beerfuelledman »

I have no bloody choice
Lost my 3 best midfielders to bans/red cards for next game :(
Anyone have much success with a 433 VD LB strategy?

Not got any half decent all-rounders in other positions? 5-3-2 might even be a better option too...

Have had some success with 343 recently, relies on 4 solid midfielders, never got on well with 433

3-4-3 is pretty nice, I find it especially useful when I am the better team and want to beat someone playing with a defensive setup.

4-3-3 is utter junk tho, it has virtually no use now. Unless you are massively stronger but even then I wouldn't play it. 5-3-2 and the aforementioned 3-4-3 are much better choices.

532 it is. Even though my 5th is a 4 skill. Unless I play my new 11sk allrounder in defence and go with the 7sk in MF :?:

Does everyone only play 352 and 451 normally?

It would seem so, but varying results with other formations, tbh.

Like to mix 442 & 532 as well.

I do tend to play 442 more than I used to and I play around with 532 and 541 on occasion.

With this thread I was getting more at the fact I had no real other options with my 3 best midfielders banned :(
Though as a result, I'm leaning more to 532 than 433. Just not sure whether to play a 4sk in defence or buff it out with the 11sk all rounder and rely on long balls.

I had my 11sk allrounder in 532bdefence until 5 mins before kick off when I changed him to midfield and 442. I got one chance in the game, and scored it winning 0-1. :D

Nice although slightly lucky!!!

You have just tarnished your image of an excellent tactician to a indecisive lucky one :D :D

I do believe 433 is making a comeback

After getting thrashed by a 433 in the Xpert league I only went and thumped Mintman in the Biscuit tin in a 433 that was fielded purely to maximise DV where it was needed. Wonder if the game engine has been tweaked a little?

I do match reports for an entire division in one private league and every team that has played 433 has been absolutely smashed.

I have a team that should have romped their division too, but ended up finishing second because every time I played 3 up top my unbeatable team became useless

   That wasn't me??.. To be fair in that match the away side went 433 to maximise DV also. Whether you would have fared so well against a different formation is something we'll never know?

He won 1-0 by the way

Now I find 442 is a vERY effective formation at home

as long as all 4 are decent mids

I have played 4-4-2 at home for the past three seasons and would say that it often end in home wins.

This is the key, though. Does anyone know any teams with 3 good enough forwards?

I would guess that allowing for equal prediction effects that the 5 mids are still the strongest formations.

I have lost the link to thingy's stats stuff which could be worth a look, if people want to investigate further.

But I don't really see myself buying big skill forwards. Maybe if I was convinced I could keep a forward instead of a midfielder in the conveyor belts that I have set up, but by then it will probably have changed back

yeah i have at least 1 team if not a couple more wher ei could play 3 forwards without weakening too much.

and team where i could play
14
14
12

skill forwards

I do agree that high skileld forwards seem to be less important than high skilled mids. But sirely a high skill forward is better than a low skilled forward and those people who dont bother and still win are winning IN SPITE of their weak forwards , not because of - as some of them claim (michelep) etc

when i say decent mids i mean no 17/4 - 8 or 9 skill as your weakest i would say

Nothing to do with my Animals with their lack of a good forward and Keeper, then

I won with 5-3-2 today - the Team Strength was an advantage of 1, and Form was miles better, but my Ave age was 24 vs 28 - oh and I was at home, and they played a predicted 3-5-2.
