Jabroni Wednesday

Post by kizkiz »

Thought i'd stick a thread up for my public team
Currently in league 7 of the Xpert league after avoiding relegation last season (I took over halfway through)

Here's the team:

Image

Everyone increased last year except sugano, who got injured at the end of season and lost loads of form.
Plan is to get an 18/4 keeper and mid while trying to up the old skills again

One game in the league this season and got stuffed 4-2 at home, but that was against a team that was relegated fromDiv 6 and is much better than mine.

Any thoughts?

Have you any money? Most of the farming teams I see, i.e. that are full of 17/4's on their way to being a team full of 26/12's have one crucial difference to your defence - A high skill oldie for a) average age & b) DV. I'd dump Montella (20'4's are rubbish) for a high skill oldie with good/excellent compatibility and speed if poss to go with Mackenzie's heading. Situation may be the same up top, the balance of the waste of time money spending it on old players Vs their ability to assist getting DV into the youngers is one Id like to hear other opinions on.

(See - http://www.xperteleven.com/players.aspx ... ost=0&dh=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Set Youth Academy to MF and hope for a nice 17/4 :D

I'm looking to set up a conveyor, so i figured buying some 17/4 s as this team age will set that up?
I only have a few mill, and have bid on a couple of cheapies as above.
Youth already set to mid :D

This is one of the rare occasions where I wouldnt be against the idea of buying an Oldie, though I would be more likely to buy a keeper than a defender. He will work just as well on the average age issue, have more chance of helping you with results and he will last longer in the squad.

You need a proper youth keeper to develop. Montella and Ferrari will never be good enough, the rest of them look plenty good enough to be your team while you gently start introducing better youth when funds and youth coach allow. All those hard trainers too. I had forgotten about them. Yum yum yum!

Well i've bid on a young keeper.
If i get him i can look for an oldie and flog Macleir
Am happy to build the squad for a bit and not worry too much about results

Whats Macleir worth?

Having a strong keeper is vital the higher up you go. He will never be strong, but those SQs might just fool someone into paying for him.

It could well be worth getting a 10-bar forward and Keeper\Defender to pass the skill on to the kids. All three would be good, and can be picked up for under 1m each.

It may be an idea to start on the age gaps in defence while you are at it? Shifting Song could be another idea.

This should leave more than enough Cash for the oldies, which you do need to help the kids develop, and get a handful of 16\3's and 17\4's - vanilla ones can be picked up for 500k(ish). This will set the Conveyor Belt off on a higher path... (I'm assuming that you mean Conveyor Belt: as in 3-4 year age gaps for D and M, and 5 for forwards, and 7-8 for Keepers.)

Lost the first leg of my 2nd round cup game 3-1 at home the other week, against a team in division 6
Played the youth (yes, more youth than i usually play  )in the second leg
A last minute goal by me led to a 3-1 result and ended up winning 5-1 after extra time

Well the team is ticking along nicely.
Pretty much safe from relegation already and may even have a run at second if i get lucky.

Urbano rascao was supposed to a 16/3 but turned out not to be
He hasn't played a game but formis really high.
If i play him in a couple of games and he gets to 19 DV is he likely to double jump and become a more useful 17/4?

His af is only 14 kiz so it's possible to get a DJ but unlikely. Great form trends and F/AF in the rest of the team though, nicely done.

you should have no bother getting him to 17/3 from there you can target 18/5 if he starts next season well.

i would look at selling Dwayne Johnson

his AF means he is very unlikely to develop into "the Rock" of your defence

you can pick up 2-3 million for him

if you keep him he will be 21/6 next season and pretty worthless

you need to make sure the 21 MF on 11AF improves a lot too

Both those players struggle with form
Dwayne has just recovered from injury, which is why he's low

Thought I'd posted on this one - very impressive however IMHO reinvigorating a poorly managed side in the first season like you've done requires some tough decision after the CR.

What are your thoughts about who stays and who goes?

Well, bearing in mind that i only worked out that the current form bar wasn't the current DV about 2 weeks ago  I may needsome advice. lol
I'll stick the team up after the cr and see what everyone thinks.
It wasn't so much a case of a poor team, just a very young one when i took over
Current average age is only 22

Change report is in.
13 singles and 1 double (for my star mid alex song)
no visible loss of bars
8-)

So, here's the current team:
jabroni apr12.png
Gk - all good
defs - rascao to be sacked when i get the chance. De rosa got a visible bar despite playing only 5 games and being DV10 :?
Mids - I like my midfield 8-)
Forwards - Stick panomyong on market and buy youth in. Sack panomyong if needed after.
Summary - money not a problem at the moment. Buy a youth forward
Thoughts?

Only if you cash in on one of the kids. 4 Forwards is one too many for me.

16/3 defender (with speed if you have cash) to replace rascao. Nothing else requiring major attention IMHO. :D

I see hupkes and rohrer as the future two with a youth getting dv. The old git can rot or go.

Thinking i should get a youth in mid to farm?

It depends if you want a Conveyor Belt with Age Gaps, or you are happy for them to age together. If the former, than I would think now is the time to get a young forward. Which one to sell would be down to their EV's and how bothered you are about Average Age, and I would guess the Defence struggles there...........

I don't know much about getting a group together and letting them age together........

A conveyor would be good
Is it 3 years between and with the odd farm in there too?
With a squad of 16, not much to buy and 8 mill do i really need to raise cash?

7 years for GK's, 3yrs for Mids, 5yrs for Forwards and its accepted 3yrs for Defs, but I think 4yrs is maybe better.
Farms can be any age, but plan on keeping them 2 seasons in case they dont double in the first.

I did concede 21 goals, so hopefully another year will help with that, although a while until they peak yet
Top scored in the league with 42, so no worries about scoring goals
