Isn't it a compilation of everything? Correctly 'preparing' for the opponents formation, tightning the centre if they go throughplays, man marking their playmaker, winning etc? Not 100% sure!!

that makes sense I suppose - was "prepared" and did win, that'll do bazza!

my next game is a cup game against a vastly superior team, is it worth sending out the young guns as i'd likely lose anyway?

yes - but put one good player out in each position to aid dv, and put a big win bonus on so that when you lose they still play well, you stand a better chance of retaining good form then.

7 Forwards??
Sell at least 3 of them.
Sell the 33 yo but you may end up sacking him anyway
Sell the 23/6 as all of the younger players should be better than 6 at age 23.

aye mate, bought a few to see who progresses the best and selling half of them, 23/6 on the market before I posted for the exact reason you mentioned, can see the 33yo getting sacked.....

edit -- because I've spotted a 17/3 mid, hard trainer, goal instinct, shooting power, good header ....... listed for 500k valued at 2.something

You will need to sell them on quickly as it's not possible to play them all enough to get DV and AF up and then there value drops quickly.

20/5 is a recent signing but all the rest have a dv of 15 or above.

potentially obvious answer to this......

I'm nailed on for promotion in this league, currently in 8:21 - will I gain promotion to 8:20 or somewhere else?

Yes, well done Baz - but the reality is with the counsel we have here you'd need to be fairly shit to not get promotion out of Div 8, or Div 7 next season for that matter. You've spent a season earning your Spurs - it may be time to look for a better prospect now you have a clue what you're doing. Spirey, blah blah, Wilbert & myself are all currently in the League of Champs - if you aren't hugely attached, might be an idea to check out the job centre??? :?:

If you stay at Dossntann give MacFarlan & Abree their favourite number - (I'm guessing isnt 19 & 29). As Diva's you'll get bigger all out of them til you do....

the wee things like that..... that's why I love you guys :D

I fancy staying with this team for a few more seasons...... see how it pans out, then I'll really know what I'm doing and will be ready for a proper team!

edit - it was 9 and 29

well that's the season finished, stayed in 2nd and the following are the pick of the DV/AF

16/16
16/14x2
15/16
15/14
14/18
14/14
14/13

yes only 8 with relatively decent dv/af but I've learned not to chop and change players so much next season!

So had some time out from Xpert 11, lost VIP status, and my public team....

got back into it eventually, with a new public team, and the biscuit tin team obviously (cheers Richt)

so anyway,

spent last season getting this shower below sorted out, where do I take them this season???

slight worry is the age gap formed from the duffers I had (and had to chop) to all those sub 20 that I've brought in/through.

do I just suck this up and deal with it in the lower leagues? wait till the 20year olds are 22 or there abouts and get the new blood through??

I had bought the keeper and spent a bit training him up before getting offered Scale, too little too late and he didn't increase, feel he's going to leave soon!

this bunch has potential. the younger players are quite good

Dont waste time playing cruz in midfield

play 352 lots.
make 45 min like for like subs with 2 kids - eg 2 strikers all the time

No need to waste cash buying older players at this moment as you still have a good amount of seasons before you have a core in place so I would definately make do with the youngsters and focus on structuring a conveyer belt.

What I would do is the following:
GK: Sell Buckle, keep Scale. 19/5 is a decent enough platform for a keeper at your level and the HT will make up for that single skill bar over time.

DF: Sell Renton as there is a good chance someone will overpay to get all those SQs. Bring in two youngsters instead (I prefer 16/3).

MF: Sell Cruz and bring in a youngster instead. Perhaps an intelligent 16/3.

ST: I'd keep it as it is for now. Depending on the cash situation you could bring in an extra youngster for farming purposes.

So to sum it up I guess I would advice not only accepting the youth revolution but embracing it.

this was along my thinking too, so I'm pleased with myself that I'm on the right lines! I wasn't sure about the keepers though, so can't claim to have sussed that out. Happy to go with it though!

cheers again.
