Twin Peaks finish off their pre-season with another fine outing. Fans are optimistic in the extreme. Various formations tried successfully. Its good to know I have options going into the league campaign.

Very early days yet. Dont worry. The key (from what i have read) is to do your sponsor activity and write your press statement so that you have the money to keep training your players, keep their form high. The tactics et all will come to us as we learn.

Ive joined an official xpert league too, I took over a team bottom of the table with one game to go in the season... I got dicked 4-0... I think I was unlucky :P

If you have registered on the game then you can take over an official xpert league team. You will start at the bottom. (I was given a divison 8 team with only 4 points going into the last game  ) but you will pick up the basics, plus you - and others looking to join us in season 2. Will at some point get the chance to play friendlies with each other.

Im not sure on the mechanics of it all, but there will be one team in our league having a bye week each time, so thats possibly another friendly opportunity.

My friendly match on Monday was scheduled for 19.00, but when I looked at 17.40 it had already happened :?

Kickers start the first season with one of the more talented starting squads. They have talented skilled players in every position which not many people can boast. They have 3 good goalkeepers all fighting for one place and are set in that position for years to come. The defintite weakness of the team in sup front. They need both youth and more skill bars and this may cause the side to draw a few blanks this season. The development priority needs to be in this area. There are 4 good defenders with 3 older weaker ones. If kickers learns the importance of developing youth players they may be a force to reckon with in the future. For now .. a weak front line may hamper them

Player to watch: Patric Van zant. possibly the best youth player in the entire league. looked after well he will become a superstar.

Odds 12-1 Prediction 9th
You need to let me know how you work this out. I know I have good keepers and defence but they let in 7 goals in 2 friendlies. I brought up a young keeper from the youth team with the aim of selling the old guy later on. I think I'm struggling in the tactics area as my team is not performing as I think it should even though I'm brilliant :)

i just loked at your squad... your team will let goals in if they are set up wrong. Set the team up ok and your team will do well. today i correctly predicted your foration and what atack and defence set up you would use .. as you have used the same for all 3 in your firendlies. However the disallowed goal prevented me from getting a point. You just need to change your formation from time to time and use different attacking methods.... read the rules carefully and work out which formations work where

Not quite correct tho as my 2 freindlies had slightly different lineups and I played different tactics in my league game with you.

Well, a thorough trouncing in my first game of the season, as well as my only friendly... I have a feeling this could be a long season for the Fancy Dans  . One thing I can't find, is it possible to set pre-conditions for tactic changes during the game? I thought this was a fairly standard feature of these games, but can't see how to do it here.

you cant set tactics to change during a game .... so what your team plays at the beginning they will play throughout.

its either that or the games are played over real time which would take up far too much time

it can be quickly turned round

just make sure tactics are changed players are trained and rules are read. the first season is for people to find their feet

Not really, in other games I've played, you can set conditions such as 'If down by 1 in the 70th minute, change tactic to Attacking', plus similar conditions for substitutions. It makes for a better game IMO, and more realistic (but still not as good as a real-time management sim like CM). I don't want to sound like I'm whinging though, I'm enjoying this :D .
