The Federation
I'm at a bit of a loss with what to do with the Feds. So I'll probably do nothing. I thought I'd post to see if any pearls of wisdom emerged. We're broke. My two 16/4's are now 17/5's but worth a cumulative 1.5m less But they're there for the future, another 5 seasons & they'll be first team regulars for the next 10.
Platini & Nedved were the obvious sales, but they both love The Feds so much they've chosen to playt here until retirement. Hence the Waddle sale and the (successful) purchase of Retirement Blocker Platini will play until 38.
To generate funds (for Training/Marquez replacement/ 16yo MF FK'er) I've considered the following:
Vorm - Replacing with a 30/13 & keeping Thorsvedt would generate 5m (minus evals)
Thorsvedt - Not worth selling this term as a 21/7. Need to wait until a 22/8. Easily achieved high DV's to date make me think he has a double in him - 22/9 perhaps. Another youth keeper & keeping Vorm then the plan.
Mabbutt. Would generate maybe 3.5m. Defence would be decimated though.
No one else worth selling. Marquez the gaping hole I'd want to rectify.
I dont see anyone else worth selling yet. Kolodziejski was promoted as a farm, but with a 4yr age gap between Kanchelskis & Keane & a couple of useful SQ's he might be kept.
Interested in hearing any ideas.

Re: The Federation
selling Mabbutt isnt so bad
352 still a good side
I would sell the 21/7 GK and set YA to GK. if dont get anything this season then buy a 17/4 next season
marquez does need to go

Re: The Federation
Best scenario I have come up with to date is:
YA to 16yo MF
Sack Marquez (fragile)
Keep Mabbutt to bring on Dawson
Next season sell Thorsvedt as a 22/9 (I reckon he's about 7.2sk - fingers crossed)
YA to GK
Purchase a 22/8(ish) FK defender as a Marquez replacement.
None of which really leaves a lot of money in the pot unless I can farm what the YA provides.

Re: The Federation
You'll have to go some to get Thorsvedt to increase by 1.4 BFM - at 8.5 he will be an 8. I'd consider selling part way through the season with a mini CR he should be a very sellable 21/8.

Re: The Federation
Thats maybe a good idea Wilbert. I sold Southall as a 29/12 to bring on Vorm as a kid and I'm not sure I want to feel that pain again selling Vorm. Mabbutt is the mainstay of the defence & could play another 2-3 yrs (Or already have announced his retirement like his two predecessors!) but I feel I need to keep him for now. So its prob Thorsvedt to go - some games early doors then and try a mid season sale?

Is there a way to know when to sell?

Re: The Federation
Not an expert but this is how see it from what ive read.
It all depends on the length of the season, age, average form etc.
For example IF an 18 year old would get a skill bar increase at the end of the season on Dv14 after playing 4 games. In half a season after playing 2 games with AF of 14 he is on DV7 he would get a .5 skill increase at the mini cr.
Essentially you want Af as high as possible and the player "on track" for Af=dv.

Re: The Federation
i sold a 17/4 after 6 league games of the official season last night
he already had 15DV and that was enough for him to be a 17/5 header and tough
sadly i only got 2.2 mill though.. noone spotted him clearly

Feds looking in trouble.
Division One is going to be tough if they go down.
