everyone should be in, machinery at the business end permitting. one last call for any more grauniad reading hippy commie pinko punky types out there to join us. and for the first and last time ever, would like to draw attention to the minileague, in which i happen to have two entries - currently placed first, and last, which is a grauniad record, if nothing else. yet they both made sense at the time - ho hum, early days.

Nice to see the updates are already there, and a few have got off to a flyer. Found it impossible to get transfers in last night so was stuck with Ballack, but somestimes these things can be a blessing in disguise.

There's prizes for the top 40 super leagues if I'm not mistaken, I was so tempted to put Ronaldo in tonight but resisted the temptation and see what happens :(

Hard luck.

I see you are not blowing all your transfers in phase 1 then (unlike most of the current leaderboard).

I think there'll be some movers with the double points in the next round, not sure there will be as many goals in the knock out stage

I don't think second mini-league is eligible for the price. They don't have 5 different managers.
And watch out a competition from "ORGANIC HEMP",ranking 20th at the moment 8-)
I didn't want to overload "Fiso Grauniad Challenge" with my 9 teams(I tought it wouldn't be fair for others).
So I made my own league with 6 teams, and ranking 20th now :)

I can't get to grips with this assist rule? Why didn't Pardo get an assist for the Marquez goal? Please somebody explain. Infact I can't work out who scores goals now. After seeing Melberg score, and Larsson getting it, Borgetti scoring and Crespo getting it, does it mean the player who runs off and celebrates most, gets the points?

Hi,

http://www.fantasyfussball.com/Article.aspx?id=401

Just wanted some extra opinions on the rules (paragraph 8). Can phase 2 transfers be used right up to the start of the phase 3 games (i.e. after France-Spain has finished)? Does that also mean that phase 3 transfers can only be used after the end of the first phase 3 game?

Cheers!!

Team changes made before 00:00 BST on Friday 30th June will count towards
Phase 2.

Team changes made after 00:00 BST on Friday 30th June will count towards
Phase 3.

Hence, it is possible to make changes between the Last 16 matches and
Quarter Finals in either Phase 2 or Phase 3, depending when you make them
this comes from an email they sent me , cheers Andy

The way I read it, 00:00 BST on Friday 30th was before the first quarter finals, so no it wouldn't be possible to make changes between the Last 16 matches using the phase 2 allocation of transfers.

I still seem to have 1 transfer remaining for phase 2, so I suspect I can still use this before the first QF kicks off.

From the terms and conditions:

"There are three "Game Phases" during the tournament: Phase One: 17:00 09 June 2006 until 15:59 24 June 2006; Phase Two: 16:00 24 June 2006 until 15:59 30 June 2006; Phase Three: 16:00 30 June 2006 until the end of the World Cup. Unlimited transfers are available before the start of Game Phase One. "

ps: Chances for one of us to win a prize are looking pretty good, with three from our mini-league in the top 12!
