The Rock and Roll fantasy football website has fallen victim to ever more common first day crash syndrome.
Sorry

The site is currently disabled for essential maintenance.

Please check back shortly.
Is what it says at the moment, thus proving the old 'leave it to the last minute at your peril' adage once again.
Since it's an adage that I always preach to others it's a bit ironic that I hadn't got round to replacing Fab in this game yet. Serves me right, that's what I say :(

It's a shame these sites are focused on getting as many people signed up as they can but they spend only the bare minimum on technology - enough for average days not pre-KO times. Not surprisingly most games are at best very slow this morning :(

I went through all 15  of my games last night but only b/c I didn't think I'd have time to do it this morning.

HOLY SH*T!!!!! :D :D :D

Been away all weekend. Just logged on and despite having not scored a goal yet, I'm up to 3rd in our league!!!!!! Was nowhere last weekend!! Our league is doing well, top by 45 pts also!!!

If RVP and Robbie Keane could pull their finger out, it would be most appreciated!!!!!! Only used 1 transfer also!!!

First time I have entered this type of FF compo. I know a long way to go, but loving it (in a Kevin Keegan stylee!!!!)

Keep up the good work all!

I have made a pure mess of this competition, I missed the transfer amnesty deadline last week and this week I discovered I had entered two teams by mistake
I have asked the organisers to remove one of them (A lucky dip team which I can only vaguely remember entering, before I entered the one in the Fiso league, and which hasn't been altered at all from it's initial luck dip selection).
My other team which is in the Fiso league and which I did pick is only doing marginally better
Hopefully the organisers will realise that I made a mistake (through drink I suspect  ) and wont disqualify me.

Am I the only one who initially thought that was a tongue in cheek response to sorbiegunner's confession to having entered two teams in this comp by mistake, rather than being the name of your team which is pending acceptance into the league ? :D

No, I'm with you I'm afraid, I don't even know what I thought the plastic bit was supposed to mean but I took it to be getting at the referee blowing his whistle to send me off.

It's not all about me you know

as a question, is there any cut off point for joining leagues in this thing ?

seems to me theres nothing to stop someone who's doing well joining the fiso league next April if they're doing well and claiming a share of the 5 grand top prize, as fiso is bound to win the thing.
Looks like you can join as many league as you like.

Seems a touch unfair to me,

cheers

Martin.

I agree with Strongo. One for Admin to answer I expect as he runs site/league.

The good thing with mini leagues is they help spread the word about Fiso. Personally, I had always been into fantasy sports and have won some nice things in the past (sports memoribilia etc). I discovered FISO through the Todays Golfer Fantasy Golf. The FISO mini league was romping away after week2 and I saw the web address at the bottom of the league. that then prompted me to sign up and I now visit FISO site every day just before work whilst eating brekkie and whilst eating sandwich at desk for lunch! As a result I'm signed up for loads of comps I would never have known existed.

However do we have our own rule to stop people jumping on the bandwagon, just to try and grab a slice of free cash right at the death? Havent got a problem with people joining say by end of Sept, but think we need to have a cut off that balances promoting this fine site and getting new players onboard, and being fair to existing members.

With this game you are added to a waiting list for the league you want to join and the chairman of the league has to then accept you or reject you so from the point of view of the issue you raised it isn't a problem.
What could be a problem is that a group of people towards the top of the leader board could try and contact each other to set up a winning league near the end of the competition and there doesn't appear to be anything in place to prevent this happening so potentially FISO could have the prize snatched from them at the death.

Quick general question:

Is Ronaldo value in this game :?:

He is 9.2m

Eg

Lamps 6.1m
Ade 7.7m
Yak 7m

vs

Ron 9.2m
Zaki 5.8m
Fuller/Kitson 5.6/5.7

Surely he simply is not worth it :?:

or is he

It's questionable that he's a 'must-have' in most games but in this I won't even contemplate trying to build a team around him (or will I  )...

Looks like we are both playing in a few (ahem) games....

Virgin
Sky
FPL
CYKI
Game
Guardian
Channel 4
TFF
Eggcup
Daily Mail
Vital
Metro

ESPN :?:

and we are pretty closely matched....for now

Seriously though good luck for the season ahead. 8-)

Best wishes
