my view in fantasy games has always been with the expensive players how much does it damage the rest of your team.

i still felt with gomez that i could pick a decent team with at least 1 solid alternative in every single position to the 1st choice starting X1.

i thought gomez may end up top scorer and was therefore worth the risk.

as only 6% agree with me i have either miscalculated badly or have a chance of a jump on the field. i thought he could score 30+ and was therefore value even at the price, so he may decide almost on his own whether i am competitive or not.

my worst start was trasch injured with a broken hand but he was only a sub and hopefully my two cheap cheap selections in defence will get an early run so i'll likely keep him as he would have spent most of the time in the early weeks on my bench anyway, so will keep that 1st trannie a while yet i think and only consider removing him if out for longer and no other injuries occur.

Annoyed that I didn't see this until it was too late. I could have done with a new game to get my teeth into. Is the leaderboard going to be littered with references to 1966? ;-) Good luck all.

noticed one more sloppy bit, admittedly due to an afterthought, but plenty of time for clever.tv to put it right!

it says one transfer before 4 september.

does this mean midnight 3 september german time, midnight 4 september or as i suspect 8.15pm german time. perhaps this could be clarified.

Bayern Munich team tonight...

Rensing

Lahm
v.Buyton
Badstuber
Pranjic

v. Bommel
Altintop
Schweinsteiger
Muller

Olic.
Gomez,

Edit. The source livegoals.com is unreliable. The supposed first goalscorer is not listed as in the team or on the bench :? Olic in for the injured Klose.

Muller is on the bench, Klose isn't in the squad. Baumjohann & Olic are the two playing instead.

was surprised so many went for muller with ribery looking increasingly likely to stay. looks like VG went for a more solid line up, muller likely to come off the bench a bit though and get a goal or two here or there i guess. to me in a squad game classified as a striker and stealing a munich place from you (3 per team only) i didn't think he was attractive.

klose was a knock in training and i would expect him to return for the next game after missing (being rested) the international.

don't think anyone will get too fat this weekend.

all i could manage was 2 or 3 goals from midfield and the obvious one up front.

almost chose kuranyi in 1 or 2. 1 clean sheet but they are not worth much anyways.

had holtby in a few who was benched, can see an obvious replacement but might sit a while and see if he gets a shout or a striker gets injured so will probably keep my trannie and bench him.

anyone off to a flier?

Holtby got six points somehow - not quite got used to the scoring yet but seems that the Bild ratings are important. My best 106 which is in the 3000s - looks like a large entry.
I chose the right club league anyway [Bochum]

best of my three teams has 105 points, steady start rather than spectacular :)

Dont think the mini-league leaderboards are quite working properly yet, seems to show overall leaderboard for me.

124 is the best of my three teams. Two clean sheets & five goals from that team. Fritz was the let down with -2, didn't expect Bremen to get beat at home to an average side.

115 my score so far, with 3 goals and 1 clean sheet and quite a few Bild points for some players. No points for Ze Roberto according to the Latest Points, though.

hi neil,

todays scores not updated yet.

a steady start for me, will have a few in excess of 100 after the update for today.

shame the player scores are not available on the site yet. hopefully they will change that. seemed to be a weekend of midfielders and grafite/kuranyi with little from defenders.

i felt defenders would score lowest but never tried a precise calculation. anyone else took a view on this?

Thanks, Andy

Extra 7 points for Ze Roberto (despite poor Bild rating) now showing takes it to 122 for the gameweek.

I also felt defenders would score lowest and went with a 3-4-3, for this gameweek at least, and there was certainly a shortage of clean sheets. That said the one defender I did have who got a clean sheet did score reasonably well and even those who didn't matched the scores of those midfielders/strikers who didn't score.

I have the Rensing/Lehman keeper combination and didn't buy anyone really expensive. Went for a more balanced squad, with a few players in the Grafite/Misimovic price range, but that was probably more to do with the fact that I went for names I knew and hadn't done enough research to know who any of the decent enablers/cheapos were.

hi neil,

as i said earlier odds are my fate will be decided by whether gomez takes off.

i think most enablers were in the top choices lists although an obvious defender was missed and there maybe better midfield enablers.

good luck with the comp.

yep i also think 3-4-3 is the way to go, i think i got a bit lucky with 5-3-2 this week.
I don't have Grafite :( so really need Podolski to recover from injury.

Good luck to everyone.

hi dean,

sounds like you had some block  good going with a 5-3-2 to score that well in a midfielders week!

i don't think podolski will be out long, although there is a slight risk of him being in disciplinary trouble over another elbowing incident.

i don't personally think he will do as well at cologne as some people are expecting but i hope for your sake i am wrong. sounds like grafite will be a bogey player for you, being the most popular striker.

seems like a well designed game, although i'd maybe have gone for 3 transfer windows with say 3 or 4 changes at each window.

Hello,

I must confess that the tactic of all my 6 teams i´d sign up is 4.4.2 , however i´m not sure yet wich could be better (3.5.2 4.4.2 or 5.3.2).
Other thing that dissapoint me a little was the multiple ways of scoring with some unpredict "und":) unexpected extra or underpoints. For example , the BILD points wich could change by between -3 "und" 10 SManager points. On other words this means that we are hands of the humor of Bild journalist.
The other doubt i have is that 2x factor.
"Undy" i was reading your explanation about it but i still didnt understand when and where that multiply factor beguns.
At least that 50% "und" 60% (some kind of a triple double and a double double in NBA) could be a very random factor.

"und" = some of the first easly german words to learn :)

Nice one Andy, cheers for that. :)
My German footy knowledge ain't the best so any bit of injury news helps.
Yeah it looks a pretty good game but I agree it could do with a few tweeks here n there.
But still there's a decent pot of gold- so well worth the punt! :D

It's going but only found it in German.Translated this topical line from the t&c's:
'The employment from software to the systematic or automatic control of the play or individual games functions by Bots, macros, etc. for the reproduction or evaluation of the play, play elements or on contents stopped in the play and/or the BILD.de Community is forbidden permitted influencing control, just like every other form to not expressly on play processes.'

curiously similar to the Sun's T&C
