I shall return to Lampard after a week with Hyypia. Don't have RVN, and don't fancy Thierry this weekend, which will doubtless come back to haunt me. Dawson also a consideration for the first time.

Ive sold Henry  (short term), so it cant be him!

Rooney, RvN or Lamps???

Probably Lamps actually, Chelsea at home is always a good bet.

Lampard. He generally scores more points than RVN and Rooney and has an easier match than Henry.

Choices for me are Rooney, Henry, Lampard & now Gerrard (how I have all of them in my team is beyond me). Not bad considering I also have Pedersen, Nolan, Carra etc.

I think I'm going to go with Lamps also with Rooney & Henry battling it out for 2nd choice.

Who to pick in goal though, Carroll or Jussi? Edging towards Carroll.

looking at the fixtures i would say there are going to be two turkey-shoots - one at old trafford and the other at white hart lane. in the absence of any out-and-out goal scorer at spurs, surely it has to be RvN or Roon ?

I am too far behind in my leagues to have the luxury of a 'safe bet' like Lamps as captain and given a choice of Lamps, Henry, Rooney and Alonso I am going with Auld Slapper's Toy Boy in the hope that he out scores Lamps who, doubtless, most of those in my Private leagues will select.

Then again, a few scoups tonight at the Christmas do and I am sure someone will persuade me that Noseworthy is the only choice....I just need to remember that I am drunk and avoid internet cafes on the way home.

Lamps for me, but I could go for Henry, Gerrard or even Scholes, yes, I said Scholes. I had money, got rid of the jail-bird Pennant and needed to buy a Utd Midfielder. So Scholes is in. Laugh all you want.

Rooney to continue last week's form without missing the sitters. Then again, every time I've made him captain so far he's been pants...

Crouch for me! Liverpool... home to a fading Wigan side he is surely even more likely to score than against Man City and Sunderland last double GW

Every time I've picked Rooney as my captain he's done nothing except got himself booked! I think its got to be between Lamps and Henry. Although I'm tempted to keep Gerrard as my captain!! But I'll probably play it safe and go with Lampard....maybe.

Let's all take it in turns to have a silly pick for their Captains. I started it with Crouch... who is next?

Going for Henry now. Just based on current form over the last three weeks I think Henry is a better option. Does Lampard need a rest? (Cue Lampard hat-trick)

Aah sorry didn't read your post properly (at work and keep having to minimise my screen!).

Silly pick for the week has to be Nosworthy then...

I don't have another team... but I'm also not picking Nosworthy so I'm just a big liar really. I will have a REAL silly daring pick at some point though but just not this week... No more Friday evening chatting then :(

RVN isn't a ridiculous choice. If I hadn't sold him to get Henry back I might go for him as captain myself.

If I was choosing a silly captain (theoretically) from the players I have on the pitch this week I'd have to go for Barton. If I included the bench it'd be Jaasekelainen.
