It sounds like Grealish should be back somewhat soon. I’m tempted to hold. If you need the funds elsewhere then he’s a sell.

Does it make Bamford (Villa h) more appealing than Watkins with Leeds(a), Sheff(a)?
Yes this is the unknown. It's a very similar situation to DCL a couple of weeks ago and I held onto him and glad I did. I'm keeping in the absence of information but that really is dictated by who you have to play instead - for me it's Raphinha so pretty easy hold.Turd Ferguson wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 11:30 It sounds like Grealish should be back somewhat soon. Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
Yeah the Grealish news is important - if they get a DGW28, along with playing in GW29, it'll be pretty ideal.
I'm still a little skeptical about what Dean Smith is saying though, he seems to have really gotten his back up over the whole team leak stuff last week and sounds a bit disingenuous/unsure. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get a sort of recurring "he's nearly there, not quite ready yet" type presser for the next few GWs.

Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
It is probably a question whom you have in your team. I certainly would not get in Bamford for a (-4) for WatkinsSutter Kane wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 11:32Does it make Bamford (Villa h) more appealing than Watkins with Leeds(a), Sheff(a)?
And it is also doubtful whether I would take a -4 to get Watkins for Bamford for the additional game.
Then again Dallas seems more a attractive than a lot of DGW players, and so might be Raphina.
EDIT: Dean Smith said "Jack could be back to play against Sheffield United next Wednesday or Wolves next week." Last week he said: I am an optimist.

Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
Yeah I agree. Just got to hope they 'rush' him back. If he misses GW29 or is on the bench, then we suddenly have the flip side of what you call 'pretty ideal'.Nailer6245 wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 11:34 Yeah the Grealish news is important - if they get a DGW28, along with playing in GW29, it'll be pretty ideal.

This is where a luck element comes in. If he's out for a week, then it's lucky. If he's out for a month, then it's unlucky. And we don't know which. It might end up being a switch to Traore in GW28 for a probable -4, if they have a double.
Would you do it for free is my question then?

Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
Ya I’m also going to play raphinha this week. 28 and 29 are when I’d really want him, and it sounds like he’s almost certain to be back by then. Smith said he’s “very close to being pain free.” Otherwise it’s two transfers (at least one -4) to hop off and on.Sutter Kane wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 11:32Yes this is the unknown. Interesting. Ok let me rephrase. If you had nothing else to do and 2 frees, would you swap Bamford to Watkins (who also plays in GW29)?

The acceptable kind of non-thread RMTs are the ones that illustrate some general conundrum that we're all facing atm, so you're all good SK.
With 2FTs and your team I'd do
- Bamford to Watkins for free, roll the second, play Raphinha
- Next week 2FTs Bruno & a City defender to (K)DB and someone like Targett for a potential double in 28 and a match in 29
- You've three Villa & DCL for DGW28, depending on Grealish fitness & whether it actually is a double in the end
- Then 2 FTs in BGW29, easy to turn DCL/Mid to Bamford/Son, giving you 10 players in total
- Pts pts pts

Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
It basically suggests that you want to get Watkins in and use the 2 frees for the in and out. I think you are in a lucky position, if you do not have any other issues. It would still be a No for me. I think that Villa is significantly weaker without Grealish, and Bamford is on penalties. But I do not have a crystal ball.Sutter Kane wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 12:03Interesting. Ok let me rephrase. Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
Thanks for advice. Landscape has potential to change so 2 frees potentially important next week.
I agree Villa significantly weaker without Jack and wouldn't be at all surprised if Watkins got 4 points total this week. But it's not all about this week. If he gets 4 this week and smashes the double when Grealish returns, happy days.
Thanks. I probably would not get Bamford back before WC so it's not in and out. Believe me, with my BBoost luck (benched a biblical amount of points with 50/50s since my GW19 10 point BBoost, it's certainly not luck I have plenty of useful cover). You can look at my benchings and see the ridiculous stuff!Lucky wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 12:23 It basically suggests that you want to get Watkins in and use the 2 frees for the in and out. Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
Looking like I'll only make one move this week, Mee to either Dier or Aina. I'm favouring Aina more because he's a decent differential, he plays in 29 and Dier isn't quite nailed on.
Likely that I'll move to Reguilon for GW 27 in place of Maguire to maximise GW29 and I can't afford Reguilon right now anyway.
I could do Son - Barnes but I'm taking a gamble and ignoring him.

Ings to DCL and then I need to decide if I take a hit to bring say Targett for Tarkowski now in prep for 29. Worth it? I have Mee still as well so I'm not loving the Burnley double up but I also have Martinez in goal so I'm torn. Are there better defensive options in prep for 29?

Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
Thoughts on Villa's El Mohamady (4.3)?
I'm thinking that he should play while Cash is out injured and the advantage for me is he allows me to get Kane this week for a -4. (Chilwell-> ElMo and Ings -> Kane)
If I get a more expensive defender I'd have to take a -8 to get Kane in.
Doubts though about how long till Cash is back. I'd want ElMo playing until at least GW29.

It's difficult, my Spurs friend said he can definitely see Dier playing against Burnley, wasn't so sure about Fulham. If you haven't got the cash for Reguilon, I'd say Aina is a solid pick.slyger wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 16:39Missed that scrolling though on mobile. Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
My thinking is pushing me towards a (-4) and a BB.
I've got McCarthy + 3 Leeds (Bamford, Raph & Dallas) + Coufal as my SGWers.
Coufal/McCarthy could become Targett/Areola for 2 more dblers at (-4) - and I do need a goalie for GW29.
3 Leeds players and a dbl-goalie worth a Bench Boost?

Good question. I am not too confident about Mee getting much this week (I have him), but I am leaning towards just playing Raphina instead (or Bamford, but Raphina seems to be in a 'very good moment' (as Italian managers say)).slyger wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 18:13worth the hit though?DeanoMK wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 16:43It's difficult, my Spurs friend said he can definitely see Dier playing against Burnley, wasn't so sure about Fulham. Re: DGW 26 Transfer Thread. Deadline: Sat 27th 11:00
well, i'm certainly stuck with Mee either way since Tarkowski is pricier and makes more sense to shift. Dier is probably the sensible option but who knows about Jose now that he's moaning. El Mohamndy could also be worth a punt I suppose. I just despise taking hits on defenders but with 29 in mind it's bringing in a player with a game so that at least cuts the hit by 2pts.eastcentral1 wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 18:49Good question.
