FPL Cup 2020/21

Up against a guy who has 8 players the same as my team. I have double City defence - Stones/Dias while he just has Cancelo. Could be the different if City keep it tight. He also has Son while I have Kane.

By far and away going to be the toughest round so far. He's barely used any chips so hope he doesn't waste one trying to squeeze through here. His team value is 102.7 compared to my 105.3 so just need to hope I have enough.

Blooming Cancelo has done me.

I'm on 19 from 5 (sitting with Soucek 3rd sub)
He's on 23 from 3.

We both have Fernandes captain and the only differences between our team are:

Me - Martinez, Robertson, Kane
Him - Schmeichel, Justin (my 1st sub), Chilwell, Son, Watkins

I think it is doable if Kane can haul and Leicester falter at Everton.

Not sure what to make of my chances of progressing to round 5. In theory it should be straightforward as I'm up against a dead team who will have no captain, and will start with 10.

They are however, strong in the GK and defensive positions with Pope/Tarkowski/TAA/Robertson/Maguire/Dunk. CS for 3 of Burnley, Liverpool, Man Utd and Brighton and I could be facing an uphill battle to qualify.

When Zaha scored I feared I could be in trouble against my opponent's dead team, but I ended the night 46-8 in front.

So that leaves his:

Pope, Robertson, Maguire, Tarkowski, Dunk, Ndombele and DCL

Versus my:

Fernandes (c), Salah, Watkins + 38 point lead.

I'm 16 points down and it's a straight fight between my 2 of Kane/Robbo and his Son.

So I need Kane to score a hat-trick while Robbo keeps a clean sheet. So after 60 mins it's 0-0 and Robbo subbed off. Then Kane scores a hat-trick. Son sent off late on.

Arguably my first real test with opponent at OR 380k to my 37k.

Only shared players are McCarthy, Bruno and Soucek and he has plenty of dangerous players I don't own e.g. Robertson, Cancelo, Grealish and Son. He also has a Kane shaped hole to address, which will probably be where he makes his transfer this week.

They've used all their chips and have -16 in hits over the last two gameweeks, and -30 across the last 7.

Actually, 118 points taken in hits across the season.

Made it through the last round by picking Fulham's GK! A strong midfield with no Vardy or Kane to dispose of. Doesn't take many hits.

Went through easily, but my next opponent is OR 70k, and has all the usual top players with few differentials. We both have Kane to deal with and he does not mind taking a hit or two.
