For what it is worth he did say he was completely fine and rested in his presser though.

TAA is having an amazing season and should definitely be under serious consideration for the armband. He has 14 assists (and 2 goals), which is just ridiculous on top of all the clean sheets.

I think most of us automatically consider him slightly behind Salah in the reckoning, who has 15 goals (and 6 assists) to his name; it’s good to spend a bit of time considering whether that’s a sensible choice or not!

The stats from GW17 onwards are certainly interesting. TAA comes out slightly ahead, but that’s also a period in which Liverpool have arguably over-performed on the CS front with 9 cleanies out of 11 - a ratio that’s not really sustainable In the longer term. Over the season, Salah still leads in terms of total points (175 v 163) and is more likely to deliver the big hauls, which is what we’re really after from our captains (he’s hit double figures 7 times this season, compared to 5 for TAA).

For those reasons, Salah still just comes out on top for me.

I’ve looked at KDB & VVD Mané and (say) Lascelles
The downside is that by using my two free transfers in that way, any gains will be offset because I’m likely to have fewer GW31 starters

Thoughts on Gomez? Is he worth getting to allow extra funds elsewhere or are you better off getting Robertson/VVD for their greater certainty and goal/assist potential?

Depends on your cash position, and willingness to make a decision re which 1 other Lpool Def (or Salah and Mane) to have and ability to not moan about hauls from the other Def's....

Already have Trent and Salah.

Gomez would allow me to have Vardy and Aubameyang going forward. VVD/Robertson would make this more difficult. So considering Gomez.

i started the season with VVD-TAA-Rob but ended up putting VVD out for Mane

i kept VVD until GW12, Liverpool weren't getting enough clean sheets for me, I didn't want to wait for the correction and meanwhile Mane and Salah are getting points

I ended up transferring TAA out in GW 14 for Soyuncu and later bringing him back in GW 24. D'oh!

I finally brought Salah in for Mane when Mane got injured during DGW

The only one I had all season was Robertson but obviously it really should have been TAA instead.

So you see why I'm so bad at this game?

At this point if I could get my overall rank into the top 150-200k I would be ecstatic. I've been playing this since 2006 and still no better.
