Pogba flew past Bruno and Greenwood into the 3 BP. Bruno will probably get a winning goal boost and push Greenwood down to 1 BP

I can see Tottenham scoring five goals against Arsenal. But at least four of them being ruled out by VAR

Re: The Rounded Keeper - FPL Pub Talk & Matchday Banter 2019/20
Indeed it’s been painful. But my current midfield is Salah, KdB, Martial and Pulisic who are all scoring well. I may switch to a strong front 8 but I don’t see many good cheap striker options with DCL struggling. I may punt on Giroud.Pirlo's Beard wrote: ↑09 Jul 2020, 22:11Wow, not having Greenwood is annoying but not having Fernandes would be terrifying!Turd Ferguson wrote: ↑09 Jul 2020, 22:08 I went with Martial, Rashford and Greenwood. Now I'm stuck without an easy way to get Rashford out and Bruno in. I may just sit and pray to the FPL gods that Bruno blanks a couple of times.

BBC News - VAR: Premier League confirms wrong penalty decisions in all Thursday games

Kane owners have had an unlucky spell alright.. Perhaps I should keep him after reading that, with Oliver perhaps willing to make amends..

I think it's more likely they're corrupt as opposed to incompetent though.... How do you fix that?

Just seen the Kane incident. How, as a Video Assistant Referee, can you decide to not give a penalty for that?

Re: The Rounded Keeper - FPL Pub Talk & Matchday Banter 2019/20
VAR is bad. I thought it would be a good thing that would take away a distraction, but it has done the complete opposite.
It's one of those things that in theory sounds like a really good idea. As everyone imagines it being perfectly implemented.
But then in reality it's horrible, because its staffed by exactly the same people who make all the mistakes in the first place and the technology is insufficient.
The technology doesn't do the most basic things that it promises to do.
Current VAR can't even accurately timestamp when the ball is struck. To do that you need cameras running at 1,000 fps or more. Instead we use Sky TV footage shot at 20 fps with 50ms between frames. A professional athlete can sprint 60cm in that time. So all offside reviews are nothing but tedious theatre. Why even bother with it?
"We have the technology to do it" was objectively not true. If they do, it's not what they are using now.
But what's 10x worse than it being technically insufficient is that it interrupts the emotional narrative. Football as a product is effectively a "loot box" of euphoric moments.
VAR blunts the euphoria by interrupting the dopamine and adrenaline signals. You only have to have it interrupted a few times and your brain quickly learns not to trust the signal of 'seeing the ball hit the net with your own eyes'. Once that pattern is learnt by your brain, you can never enjoy football in quite the same way.
"The goal" which was previously a euphoric moment is now just a gateway into a VAR review, and humans don't have the endocrinology processes to handle that 10 second+ review process with the same emotional value as the instant goal.
Give each team just 2 or 3 VAR reviews per game (like tennis) and only the manager can request them. OR get rid of it until the technology improves a lot.

2 matches ago Firminho was restedgermainelefoe wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 07:51It gets worse. As well as the fact Vardy didn't train, Klopp might rest Salah or TAA, Jimenez's wife is heavily pregnant and there is major Pep roulette to contend with.
Last match Mane was rested
Today, murf predicts, Salah will be rested
(although Klopp has commented previously how Salah is naturally fitter than the other 2 so maybe he'll start. 60/40 I reckon)
