When I read through this thread, the names that appear in many teams are

Son, Eriksen, Trippier
Sterling, Agüero

All these names are also in discussion for rotation. If all 5 would be affected, the week can easily become a desaster, particularly as they could be captain and vc choice.

Are you reducing your exposure in your team?

Indeed. I'll have Son because he's captain material, no Trippier and one out of Sterling or Aguero, that too in 35.

Think my last choice is dependent on Deulofeu's fitness... If he's not fit, I'll have to switch him to Doucoure but I'm 0.1 short, so I'll have to go for Patricio and Cathcart rather than Foster and Coady. I'd prefer the latter, it feels more secure, but I won't have much choice. Meaning final team:

Ryan/Foster or Patricio
Laporte/TAA/Dunk/Valery/Cathcart or Coady
Salah/Eriksen/Son/Ward-Prowse/Deulofeu or Doucoure
Aguero/Lacazette/Jimenez

I’d rather have a DGW player, plus Salah has a tricky game in GW34 so happy to leave him until GW36.

Interestingly though, I’m managing another team for my friend and in that one I’ve left Salah in there in place of Aguero. I’m not mad keen on Aguero for this period to be honest, was far happier when I had Kane in there.

I’m not planning to drop anyone in GW34 or 35. Knockaert may go, but he has the highest points expectation of any midfielder this week, which is good enough for me to start with him

Sitting with draft WC squad of

Ryan - Leno
Vertonghen - Laporte - Doherty - Duffy - Valery
Sterling - Son - Eriksen - Jota - Deulofeu
Aguero - Lukaku - Deeney

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Lukaku is an interesting choice. While he looks good for this week, what are your plans for United's unappealing GW35 (eve, MCI) and CHE in GW36. Don't you think it's better to get him in GW37? Or get Rashford now who is much cheaper allowing you to spend elswhere?

Vertonghen is a good choice, but keep in mind could he be rotated with Sanchez/Foyth for DGW35 (the Brighton game is the one where that might happen). I would prefer a Liverpool defender with attacking threat over him. Lloris instead of Leno if you want Spurs defensive cover perhaps?

Other than those 2 spots team looks solid.

Lukaku will probably score against his old team tho :)

Does Alderweireld have the same rotation threat as Vert? He has a slightly better ICT rating?

I like the look of this first team with swaping Vardy to Lacazette next gw BUT.........

Image

I am also thinking of the 2nd team because im not sure I want to lose Salah vs Cardiff & Huddersfield where I will have money in the bank to transfer to Aguero or Lukaku.

Image

My mini league rival has Salah & Mane with NO WC.
Any comments would be helpful thanks.

My most recent draft:

Lloris/Ryan
Dunk, Duffy, Robertson, Doherty, Valery
Ward-Prowse, Jota, Eriksen, De Bruyne, Mane
Auba, Jimenez, Vardy

Gone for De Bruyne instead of Sterling, no Aguero, no Son alongside Eriksen. Bit risk-adverse, but I'm worried about rests. Also feels weird to drop Vardy after his haul so will keep him for this week.

Thoughts?

Lucky wrote: 10 Apr 2019, 13:31 The Kane injury really ruined my strategy. Back from the drawing board I come up with the following team:

Ryan / Lloris
Duffy / Cathcart / Kolasinac / Valery / Boly
Pogba / Hazard / Sterling / Eriksen / Son
Agüero / Jiminez / Murray

ITB 0.4
Upon further thought and the discussions on here I have adjusted my team (changes in bold):

Foster / Lloris
Duffy / Cathcart / Kolasinac / Trippier / Boly
Pogba / Hazard / Sterling / Knockaert / Son
Lukaku / Jiminez / Deeney

ITB 3.6m

Reasons:

Duffy to Foster - I expect at best only one CS from Ryan in GW 34. By playing Lloris I hope for CS in GW 34 and better choice for DGW
Trippier upgrade on Valery - great, if he plays in GW 34 - otherwise bench alternatives
Eriksen to Knockheart - high risk of rotation, DGW 34
Agüero to Lukaku - very high rotation risk, Lukaku good record vs West Ham
Murray to Deeney - Deeney has good record vs Arsenal, good fixtures in DGW 35 - not enough faith in Murray

In general I had too many players subject to rotation in GW 34

Transfers planned:

for GW 35 Lukaku to Agüero
for GW 36 Sterling to Salah

Thank you for all your direct and indirect advice

What makes you think Aguero is a bigger rotation risk than Sterling? I personally think the opposite is more likely. Aguero only played 70 minutes the other night while Sterling played 90 and Sterling has much better ready-made replacements available than Aguero.

I'm liking the Knockaert suggestion but now somehow I've ended up with three Brighton players in my squad which seems insane.

Having 3 Brighton is fine I think if that includes the goalie and a defender....both of these can remain on the bench after the DGWs with little impact on your first XI. The 3rd can be transferred out in due course.

Having initially suggested Knockaert, I’m now having another think about it. Pascal Gross is back in full training and will likely take over set piece duties again if/when he plays

Other players I’m reconsidering are:

Pogba - Solskjaer has said he thinks Pogba could be playing a bit deeper. This is not good news for a player who’s attacking threat has already been dimishing recently

Aguero - I think his risk of rotation is too high so considering what to do without him. Quite fancy Deeney but that leaves £11m in the bank, which just seems ridiculous

Agüero is just back from injury, and he is a big game impact player. Tremendeous record against top six teams. So he will be needed vs Spurs and United. I am not sure about Sterling myself.

I have 8.3 in the bank.
Archy wrote: 11 Apr 2019, 12:56 Guys, I think Knockaert has been overlooked by most here.
I seriously considered him, heck I even had him in my team for a while this season but yeah...no. He did nothing for me and I could see him only playing one game anyways and not do a thing.

My team looks pretty different than previously (stated would be my last one  ), lining up this weekend as:

Ryan (Foster)
TAA Doherty Duffy (Valery & Bertrand)
Son Jota Pogba Tielemans (Deulofeu)
Lukaku (c) Vardy Jiménez

Took out KWP again as I'd like to have more double gameweek potential. Only have Son now as my Spurs player. To me, their most dangerous player. If he doesn't play, and also with Kane out, I don't expect much at all of Spurs' attacking players.

Can also see myself ditching Son for Salah in 35.

Think this will be my last draft.

Sadly only 0.1 in the bank.

Wish I could upgrade Gunn -> Foster. But no cash to be found.

Suggestions?
Dunk to Bednarek? For the 0.3.

I did had the Brighton double up but really didn’t feel comfortable having triple Brighton in defence.

Sticking with the triple Brighton defence.

Ryan Foster
Duffy Dunk Laporte Vertonghen (Robertson)
Mane Eriksen Son Jota (Redmond)
Aguero Jimenez (Deeney)

GW35: Dunk to Doherty and bench boost
GW36: Duffy to TAA and triple captain Mane

Any criticism of this plan?

I have spent every penny. It's pretty template:

Ryan / Foster
Laporte / Dunk / Duffy / Doherty / Bednarek
Mane / Sterling / Son / Eriksen / Jota
Aguero / Jimi / Deeney

My only question is whether I drop Sterling and go with a cheaper mid, to give me a stronger defence (and more flexibility ie an easier route to Liverpool full backs).

My current team:

Lloris (Foster)
Robertson Laporte Duffy (Valery TAA)
Son Sterling Jota Deulofeu Mané
Jimenez Vardy (Deeney)

With a view to changing Vardy (c) to Aguero next week.

I could alternatively have Salah, Eriksen, JWP, Gunn instead of Mane, Sterling, Deulofeu, Foster; if I wanted to get Salah in. Which team do you think is better - the Salah one or the non-Salah one? Bearing in mind I will probably use my TC on Salah/Mane GW36.

Always felt it’s a bad plan to have a transfer locked in - some one will not play or get injured this week and need a transfer, also want to keep a free to get Liverpool players in for GW 36.

Anyone else having doubts with Pogba? He seems to have lost something in the last couple of weeks and Utd have lost that spark that was there when Ole took over. I'm wondering if Ramsey is a better option.

Ive heard this a fair bit and my feelings on it are as follows.

a) We were all to a fair degree locking in transfers from GW25 - GW31 for the BGW. Its really no worse doing it for GW34 - GW35.
b) Owing to the double double, a planned transfer of say Duffy  Boly doesnt impact too much with BHA as if the transfer is required elsewhere if injury occurs; Duffy still has another DGW to go in 35.

Yes, fine for a “likely” transfer, it’s more the “Vardy c to Aguero” type I wouldn’t be locking in. Though I guess it’s only 4 points max at the end of the day.

I really want a Brighton attacker as a long week punt. Either Murray or knockaert I think.

Murray always seems to score against his old clubs and I think he’s got a good record against AFCB.

Knockaert played well in the cup and again I recall him playing well against afcb previously.
