DGW25 Captain

Post by Pirlo's Beard » 31 Jan 2019, 00:25

Short turnaround so I thought I'd get this up and running tonight. A City player looks the sensible pick, but which one? None of their attacking players are guaranteed to start both games and they tend to share the goals around anyway. Still, they're facing two vulnerable defences so the right pick could pay dividends.

Everton are the other side with a DGW, but it would take a brave (or foolish) man to captain an Everton player given their recent form and relatively difficult fixtures.

Perhaps the best captain will turn out not to be a City or Everton player at all. Hazard and Salah both have excellent fixtures and could punish those who are overly-fixated on DGW players. Having said that, it will be a City man for me, and a bit of a gamble too I think.

De Bruyne (C)
Agüero (V)

it has to be Aguero for me this time, and I hovered over picking him Captain this week several times as a diffential, but went with the herd... was thinking Aguero might get his usual average 6 points and Salah might get 12 or more...

Aguero, but only because I all ready have him and I only have Richarlison as a second doubler.

Tough decision for me this week between Salah and Aguero. Salah could seriously punish a very poor West Ham and Aguero has the DGW but not guaranteed to play all the minutes of both games. Hmmm.

Who’s the better option out of Sterling and Sane? Sane usually does well against Arsenal and could be up against Jenko or Lichensteiner if Maitland-Niles is not fit. Sterling v an attacking Kolasinac. Not sure which one is most likely to play both. Seems a flip of the coin.

too many considerations this week.

Got the Auba pick right this past week. Might be a case of Auba to Aguero so the latter can be captain.

Sane tends to get hauled off, Sterling doesn't.

Unsure on Sterling or Sane. Leaning towards Sane.

Unsure between Sterling and Sane. On the one hand Sane hasn't completed 90 minutes in the league in a while so I think he's more likely to feature in both games, but then City now absolutely have to play their best XI for a while to try and make up ground on Liverpool and Sterling's a bit more of a differential in that regard.

Liverpool have scored 4 goals in each of their last four league encounters with West Ham. Salah for me since I don’t own any City player at the moment.

Sane/Kun (TC). It's either use it now or hope Chelsea get thier own DGW and Hazard is fit, and even if he is what says he'll be in form?

Sterling over Sane for me

Felt sterling had the better game last week and less likely to be chopped. Don’t have Aguero

Its Sterling or Aguero for me . City need 2 wins really badly right now , so can see both starting both games. I think if City had at least one of their games versus a bottom 6 team , id be more tempted by TC. But then im dropping behind our top 2 in our league so maybe time to gamble.

Sane but because I don't have Aguero. Think if I had him would for sure give him the armband.

not a single vote for Hazard, at home to Huddersfield. Would have thought someone would take the shot, just to be different.
